Cinderella visiting our house

While we are having our dinner, since my little girl already had her dinner in school, so she doesn't want to join us at the table, and she decided to find her own activitiy.

It's weird that she doesn't come by and talk to me, usually, she will on and off pop by and talk to me to remind me that "mummy, i am alone, when will you come to play with me".  Guess what keep her occupied?

It's my messy kitchen drawer :) For an unknown reason, she opened up the top drawer in the kitchen where i usually throw all plastic bag into it. I used to fold the plastic bag nicely before i put into the drawer, but after a while, i get lazy and just throw all plastic bags into it. She takes one big plastic bag and slowly put all small plastic bags into it.

 

She then bring the whole big bag and put it on the sofa in the living room. Reason is, she can't put the big bag into the drawer, LOL! She's such an adorable girl, agree??

Week 2 of schooling

Time flies, this is week2 of you attending primary one. For this week onwards, parents are not allowed in school area and this make me kept thinking of you the moment the clock ticking at 11am. I start to think of have you ready for your bath, have you taken your lunch, have you get picked up by the van .....Actually, i don't have to worry on this because you already get used to it from last week's routine.

It's so hard to wait til 6:40pm. I wish i can make the clock fast so that i can see you soon. And finally my dream come true, no no, not that i am able to turn the clock faster though. It's after long waiting, finally i am seeing the clock finally reaching 6:20pm. So again, i went to school, waiting for you at outside of the gate. Yes, this week onwards, parents are not allowed to go in, so all parents wait outside of the main gate.

A while later, i can see group of students walking out and uh huh, i spotted groups of students with purple name tag. You are getting smarter, you kept look around searching for mummy, and as i told you, instead of me finding you, it will be rather easier for you to look for me and walk to me :) Very fast, i saw a cheeky boy smiling happily at me and it's you!

上学了...Going to Primary 1

Today is a remarkable day as it's a brand new start of the new chapter in your schooling life. You are entering to Primary one under government school. You in fact looking forward attending primary school as you feel that you are officially a "big boy" by going to primary school.

As usual, daddy and mummy dropped you at daycare around 9am. And in fact, teacher told us to wait for you at school's main gate around 12:40pm. However, even though mummy told teacher "OK" , but me and daddy still drop by daycare around 12:15pm because i want to see how my darling boy get himself ready for his first day at school. And the actual reason is, mummy refuse to accept the truth that you are growing up too fast!! I want to keep this moment in my memory, i want to see how you get yourself up and down from the school van. To my surprise, some other of your friends' parents also drop by at the day care, LOL! So, we are not alone, there is others parents who misses their precious.

The van come at around 12:30pm, and all of you happily carrying your SUPER HEAVY school bag and humpty-dumptyly walked up to the van. The van services actually operated by a couple , so the husband drive meanwhile the wife will sit at the back with all the kids. And they do help the kids to get up and get down from the van too. Quite happy with the service though. As soon as the van moved, all parents also get back to their cars and headed to the school to wait for their precious.

We waited at the main gate and every passby van make us excited and finally you guys arrived. I tempted to go help you, but i didn't as i know, i can't help you on this everyday. So i just stand and observing you. The van aunty did actually help each of you getting down from the van and ready with your school bag. All of you then being redirected to the waiting area. All of you seems happy and i do see some crying kids.

Next thing is, all of you being bring by your form teacher to your class and then to the hall for briefing. And for the first 3 days, you guys has the luxury of having earlier recess time and since we already pre-booked the meal for you, so one less worry for me and you.

Since both me and daddy yet to have our lunch, so we quickly sneak out to have a quick lunch before your recess time. We were in time back to the school before your recess time. And what is today's meal?? It's your favorite "Chee Cheong Fun". In few minutes time, you finished up the whole plate and we quickly bring you to washroom, and get you back to the assembly area to line up and go back to your class. Recess time is 20 minutes, but in fact it's just enough time for you to eat and line up in washroom.

When you get back to your classroom after recess time, daddy and mummy went back to have a short break. It's really tiring to spend almost half a day in the school though.

Before i realised any further, it's time to pick you up. Again, we headed to the school, and before i reached school, aunty Grace called me telling me all of you already line up and looks like getting ready to walk out from the classroom. I need to half way and run towards your class. Luckily i am just in time, all of you just line up and waiting for your class's turn to walk out. I then walked to the main gate, waiting for you. But you gave me a heart attack, i can't find you when all students are lining up at the main gate assembly area. I was searching high and low for you and thanks to one of your kindy classmate ~ Gui Teng mom, she told me she saw you somewhere around awhile ago and help me to find you. And poor boy, you get pushed by some other kids to other part of the assembly line, that's why you are not lining up accordingly to your class color. I guess at that point of time, my facial expression must be telling everyone that i am looking for my precious ^_^.

That's the end of Day 1 of you at school. Overall, i can feel that you do enjoy the schooling life, which is a good sign :) WELL DONE, my boy! On the way back, you kept complaining that you are hungry, LOL!

Standard One Orientation

Time flies, my little boy is attending Standard One orientation today. I waked him up at around 7:30am, and requested him to get himself ready without any help from me. Thumbs up to the daycare center where the teachers already get the kids rehearsal on getting themselves ready with full uniform for 2 times, so there is no issue for Kelvin to do it all by himself.

We get ourselves ready at very last minutes and reached the school right on the dot by 8am. As we reached there, most of the standard one kids already well seated at the assembly area.The kids then being directed to the hall for briefing session. Kelvin gets into the same class as one of his childhood good friend, Hannah Lee.

After almost an hour, finally the standard one students get to go into their respective class for textbook distribution.At the same time, we also pay for all the necessary fees. The session ended around 10am and we headed to the canteen for food arrangement.

Guess what, Kelvin met the rest of his D'Monte classmates and all of them started to run around at the school field. The kids really have a good sweat before we adjourned to the nearby coffee shop for breakfast. And by the way, we continue our next party at the coffee shop though!


Boy, hope you will do well in your primary study and hope you will enjoy the new school life!!

p/s: this morning, his shirt is well tied in into the pant, however, after few rounds of running with friends at the field, half of the shirt already out from the pant, LOL!Shoes still remain white as before though.

Half day outing with cousin

The kids cousin come from far far away from Johor and they usually visit us once a year during the year end school holiday. Thank goodness that even though they only seeing each other once a year, however, they tend to get closer year by year.  However, for this time, we get one small complain from Kelvin, he said " sigh, why all my cousins are girl, no boy can play ball with me?" And second thought, in fact, he is absolutely right, LOL! He is the only boy in our family all his cousins are girl, so most of the time, he doesn't able to kick ball wildly with all the cousins.

We had our lunch at Penang Swimming Club's The Captain's  restaurant. The kids had their first round of badminton game while waiting for food to be served. It's sort of a quick lunch because the kids can't wait to play badminton and sand !!! However, we still able to make the kids to have their lunch and dessert before they headed to badminton court for second round of game. Weather is so promising and we managed to put our feet in the sand and snap few pictures before rain come.

We call the day off and all kids are so exhausted and semi-dozed off on our way home.

You melted my heart !!!

It was raining cats and dogs outside and i was at the car porch, warned both kids not to come out. And as usual, then the kids see rain, they will get excited and will find way to come out and play the water.

So in return, i will scream and shout at them. And guess what, Kelvin was holding a key chain, then, he folded the key chain, make it into a heart shape.

K: mummy, u see, this is how i love you, **showing the heart shape to me**. This is my heart for mummy.
M: **heart almost melted** Oh...so sweet of you, thank you sweetie.

Boy oh boy...you are so good in sweet talk and always find way to melt mummy's heart :)

Our ESCAPE-ing day

No no no, we are not escaping to anywhere, but we are heading to the Escape theme park at Teluk Bahang. It's a new place for Penangnites as well as visitors to Penang.This park was officially opened in Nov, and after hearing good feedback from friends, we decided to give a try and of course, to bring the 2 kids along. We actually supposed to visit the park a week ago, however, due to some myself and the kids not feeling well, so we postponed the plane to a week later, With this, myself and hub do received lots of "complain" from the kids, LOL! So on the night before, we told the kids that we will be leaving to the park quite early and very cooperatively, they went to bed and dozed off fairly quick.

We woke up a little bit earlier than our usual weekday schedule, both me and hubb quickly get ourselves ready before we wake the two kids up. We headed to the coffee shop at Island Glades for breakfast before the long journey to Teluk Bahang.

We reached the park around 9:45am, and there's lots of car at the parking lot. As we walked nearer to the park, we can heard the cheering sound coming from the park. To our surprise, today, our Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will be there too for his birthday celebration as well as opening ceremony of the Escape theme park. Entrance ticket is not cheap though, kids who over 4 years old need to pay entrance ticket regardless their height, and cash is not being used in the theme park, thus, we need to get a so called "park card" whereby we can load an amount of money into the card and used it for meal and games. Some games, such as Discovery Dig, tattoo/face painting/ craft at learning house.

As soon as we stepped into the park. we were amazed by the games called "Monkey Business". It's game where  the player get to climb like a pro at various level (total of 3 levels) and balancing them-self on the rope. We do not let Kelvin try on this as he is still not ready for this tough challenge yet.

 

Zoom Bug

Right beside the Monkey business games, there's a warm up games for young kids, "zoom bug". Kaitlyn only ride for less than half of the ring and she gave up, obviously, she is till not in the mood yet. As for Kelvin, he rode for more than 2 rounds, LOL! 

As we were walking towards the tubby race area, we passed by "dig discovery" counter. This is one of the educational section for the kids as well as adult whereby it takes you back to the early days of Malaysia’s mining history. At here, the kids will get to find gems and ‘gold’ hidden in sand, soil and streams. 

After this, we proceeded for the first fun family game, "tubby racer" whereby the participants need to pull the tubby tube to almost a distance of 2.5 storey height, then slide down from there. The pulling up journey is tiring as we need to walk up the small and narrow up ramp tiny alley and furthermore, we need to walk up with the 2 kids as well. Luckily, no complain from both of them, phew! And finally, we reached the top, i slide down with Kaitlyn, meanwhile Kelvin slides down with daddy. At first, hubb a bit worry and refuse to slide down with Kelvin, and for me, i love all these games, so after i double triple confirm with Kaitlyn and she said she is ok, in the count of 1,2,3, both of us slides down happily., Along the way, i kept asking her to close her eyes, checking at her whether she's afraid or not, to my surprise, she's not afraid at all, and she even asked for another round, LOL! At last, i bet hubb can't turn down Kelvin's request, he slided down with Kelvin too.

 After Tubby race, we headed to the next area which is something like the mini version of Monkey business for starter. At first, i was so worry that Kaitlyn will not complete the whole adventure, however, looks like my worry is wasted. She completed the whole adventure without any help from us nor Kelvin. As for Kelvin, he just do it all by himself too, i think it's fairly easy and less challenging for him though :) At the end of the adventure, the kid get to slide down on their own.

Our next stop is  the mini rock climbing area before we headed to "Go Ape". Go ape is the activity whereby the adult and kid can climb on tree. Of course, they have smaller tree for kid and bigger tree for adult. Kaitlyn dare not climb up further after 1 attempt, meanwhile Kelvin tried few attempts before he give up.

After Go Ape, we headed to Foxy Burrow, and this game is strictly for kids under 12 years old, no parents is allowed to tag along in the cave. However, no worry, there is CCTV outside for parents and the park people to observe the kids movement. It's a caving adventure, so kids need to climb over rocks, squeeze through gaps and duck under obstacles to complete this caving adventure!And the kid need to follow the instruction clearly else they will kept heading to dead end in the cave. In the event of exhausted or give up, the kid will need to stand in front of the CCTV, crossed their hand on their chest, and the person in charge will rescue them.

Now, the most exciting games time, Gecko tower. The park is very considerate whereby they do have one section for kids or beginners. Since i am not so keen with this climbing activity, so by default, daddy need to accompany Kelvin for this games.

We spend 3 hours in the park and we decided to call the day off. Before we leave the park, the kids requested to have another round of zoom bug. And last but not least, they get to snap their pic outside of the park before we officially say bye bye to the park. We will re-visit the park again in next time.
