I am the milk man!

The scenario:

Kaitlyn wake up from hunger and cry out loud

M: Kaitlyn, mummy is warming your milk, give me few minutes

K: **Quickly grab his bicycle**

M: Kelvin, milk is ready!

K: ting ting(making the sound), i'm coming, mei mei, milk coming!

This is what we usually do at home when Kaitlyn cry for milk. My little helper, Kelvin, will grab his bicycle and put the milk in the basket at the front and send it to whoever is feeding Kaitlyn.

And there is once, i sort like over-heat the milk and it's hot, so Kaitlyn refuse to take the milk. And yesterday night, while Kaitlyn was enjoying his express breast milk, suddenly Kelvin pull the bottle out from her mouth saying the milk is too hot for mei mei **slapped forehead**. He then put the milk bottle into the basket in front of his bicycle and ride the bicycle from living room to kitchen then back to living room. Then he said "milk no hot, mei mei can take!" Guess what was our reaction? Of course all of us laugh out loud on what he did! Luckily Kaitlyn didn't cry when Kelvin pull the bottle out from her mouth, maybe the milk is a bit hot to her and both the brother and sister has telepathy? I hope when they grow up, they can love each others.

Kaitlyn full moon party - part II

Initally mummy want to get uncle Kah to take photo on the full moon party. Too bad, he has to take wedding photo for his customer. But, luckily we have uncle Ben!!! Thanks uncle Ben for the photo. Uncle Ben also help to take photos for us during kor kor's big ONE!

Mummy, i'm coming!

I love to spend time with my sweetie pie at home, he really make my day! See, how me brighten up my day after one day of tiring time spend in office!

My new toy

When you are small, we didn't get you this baby basket, so when you see the baby basket, you get so excited and want to play with it. You even show mummy how to get yourself fit into the small baby basket.

This is your bouncer and you don't like it when you were baby, but when you see this now, you seems enjoy sleeping on it. Mummy worry that the bounder wont be able to handle your weight.So we only let you play with it when there is someone supervising you. Seems like mei mei also don't really like this bouncer, wonder why.

Kelvin at Kaitlyn's full moon party

While everyone is busy enjoying their food at E&O Sarkies Corner, the cheeky boy of mine, Kelvin, busy exploring everywhere even though this is not his first visit there! He is forever energetic and active! I think he enjoys running around rather than the food. But thank goodness, i get to enjoy the food peacefully and happily :)So, poor daddy need to look after him and keep him entertained and occupied.

Kaitlyn full moon party

We had the official full moon on 19th Nov, one day before your actual full moon date as the confinement lady said it's better to have the official full moon celebration earlier than the actual day. And your full moon party with relatives and friends is on 23rd Nov, Sunday.

Kor kor'sfull moon party we cater food from Eden Catering and have it in ah kong's house and this time we found that it's easier to have it in hotel, no need to worry not enough food for all guests, no need to worry not enough parking space for the guests, no need to worry whether it's going to rain or not ...etc!

So, where to go? E&O hotel since Ah Ma is the member of the The Heritage from the hotel. With the membership, we entitle some discount some more! 2 weeks before the party, mummy started to call up E&O marketing staff and get them to give us a package. And the lady is quite nice and she comes back with a good deal for us! Ta da!!!

On the day, we wake up around 8:30am, get ourselves ready, however, you decided to laze on the bed. At the end, around 10:15am,daddy, mummy and kor kor need to wake you up by talking real loud in the room and yet it doesn't seems to work! So no choice, mummy drag you out from the bed, and of course you scream and cry as you still want to sleep. Mummy bath you, change for you, mummy let you wear the baby clothes that send by aunt Sharon all the way accross the big ocean from US. Mummy let you wear the top as dress since it fit you quite nice as dress. LOL! (creative right?) By the time we are ready, it's already 11:25am! We are suppose to reach the hotel around 11:45am before the guests. Ah kong, ah ma, ee poh and ee ee already there and ah kong called to check where we are.

We invited friends and relatives.Buffet start at 12 noon and it's so crowded. The marketing lady help us to get a small corner of 5 tables, 50 pax, for your full moon celebration. Your kor kor is more excited with the balloon and walking around instead of the food, mummy enjoy the food very much! Even though i already gave birth and lost my license to eat all i can, but since i am breastfeeding you, so i still have half of the eat all i can license. Poor daddy, he needs to eat his food real fast as he needs to entertain you. And what are you doing since you can't take any solid beside breast milk? You enjoy your sleep in the bassinet.

The buffet lunch is from 12 noon til 2:30pm and we continue to chit chat and take photo until 3pm. On the way back, both of you and kor kor super exhausted. We hope that all our guests enjoy their food.

We then headed back to Ah kong's house and as soon as we reached the house, you cry as it's your milk time. Kor kor quickly run the attend to you, ask you not to cry and you ignore him and he even tried to put pacifier into your mouth to make you stop crying, kor kor is such a sweet boy!

My 2 sweeties' first ferry ride

I know i know it's too long for you to have your first ferry ride, i am sooo sorry, Kelvin boy.

Since today we are sending ang kuku aunty to Prai bus terminal, so might as well we bring you along and let you have your first ferry ride. Daddy needs to work, so ah kong on leave half day to drive us to Prai as ah ma alone wont be able to cope with you on the ferry as mummy need to take care mei mei in the car. And also you also take half day off from school, mummy told teacher Margaret that i'm going to bring you for your first ferry ride, she feels excited for you and keep telling mummy must bring along camera!

Little Kaitlyn, this is your first ferry ride, but you are too young to enjoy the sea breeze.

While we are waiting for ferry, Kelvin gets very excited and i start to tell him what is ferry, give him some idea what we are going to ride on and also get him prepared for the loud ferry horn, afraid he may get shocked by the noise. But seems like the horn's sound is much softer than before. So both of our little one doesn't feel anything at all.

As soon as our car goes on ferry, ah kong bring you around the ferry. You dare not walk by yourself and ah kong also dare not let you wonder around by yourself. So he carries you! When the wind blow on your face, you told ah ma,"very cery cold!" LOL! Today's weather is kinda good for ferry ride as the sun is no strong and very windy!

The ferry that we ride on take passengers instead of cars and motors at the top deck, so ah kong brought you up to have a look at well. Basically, since this is your first ride, you just keep observe the surrounding. I guess if we were to bring you again for next ride, you will run around the ferry and we will have to chase after you like crazy!

Mummy needs to stay in the car with mei mei, so missed out the opportunity to enjoy the sea breeze with you. No worry, will find another time to go for next ferry ride with you and mei mei!

The ride is pretty short and here is our conversation after we out from ferry,

M: Kelvin, how's ferry sound?

K: pon pon !!!

M: Then what we do?

K: We park car inside, and ferry move

M: what you see in the ferry?

K: motorbike, car, uncles, aunties, water fountain!

**Ah Kong brought you to the back of the ferry and you see water splashing at the back and you call it water foundtain**

M: So later when we drop you at school, you tell teacher Margaret about the ferry ride, ok?

K: **nodded his head indicating ok**

Bye Bye ang ku ku aunty

Who is ang ku ku aunty? My confinement lady.

Kelvin likes to said angkuku to Kaitlyn and my confinement lady tease him back by saying ang kuku to him, and end up, he call her angkuku aunty!

Today, we send my confinement lady to Butterworth bus terminal and since we are going over to Prai, so we took the opportunity to bring Kelvin along for his FIRST ferry ride. We brought him to Church Street Pier before and told him what is ferry but never have the opportunity to ride on it. So, the day before, i told him we are going to bring him for ferry ride and he is so excited with it, keep telling me ferry ferry and ferry!

On the full moon day

We decided to have your full moon one day earlier. So early in the morning around 8:30am, we wake you up as the confinement aunty need to "trim" your hair, and do the so called traditional full moon activities for you. However, you still in sleeping mode no matter how we wake you up. So end up, we give up and just wrap with you sarung so that the confinement aunty can trim your hair for you. Yet, you still sleep soundly.

After the hair trimming, it's the "open face" activity. Basically, the confinement aunty uses an boiled egg and roll it all over your face and while rolling it, she said something which mummy doesn't able to catch all of it. What mummy can recall is, it's something like by rolling the egg, you will have good luck in future, bla bla...After that, we bath you and let you wear the new romper that mummy bought from Children's Place. Then, what's next? Wait for ah ma to drive us to second uncle's house to pray to my grandma, your greatgrandma.

Oh yeah, on our way to second uncle's house, we detour back to ah ma's house to pick up 1st aunt and at the same time dropped by aunt Lay Pheng's house to pick up the baby bassinet. She is so kind to borrow her bassinet to us as mummy told her that we need a bassinet to put you in for Sunday's full moon party. And in fact, a friend of her borrowed the bassinet from her and she helped us to check with her friend whether can we use it for a day or not. So nice of you.

As soon as ah ma saw the bassinet, she fall in love with it and she decided to get a new one for you after the praying. We spend about 1 hr in second uncle's house and headed to Kimberley Street to look for bassinet for you. And ta daaa.......we found one for you. The one that we borrowed from aunt Lay Pheng is with flowery design and the one that we bought for you is with plenty of apples. Hope you will love it!

Me and my 2 cousins from Johor

Aunt Lee Juan and Lee Cheng back from Johor to Penang for short holiday, and they aunt Lee Juan bring along her 2 daughters, Yong Chee and Yong Xuan during this trip.

Injection time

Wed night, i feel that Kaitlyn's tummy a bit heaty, so monitor her for a night and the condition does get any better on Thur, so brought her to see doc. And since Kelvin suppose to get his super overdue Hep A injection, so i brought him along too. You thought me go to hospital alone with the 2 kids? NO WAY! I am not that brave yet...i went with my mom!

Luckily there is only few patients and very fast, it's our turn. As soon as i told Dr Khaw on Kaitlyn's situation, he told me the heat at tummy causes by OVERFEEDING and overfeeding causes heartburn to my poor little girl ! Then,he asked me the feeding schedule for Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn's feeding schedule is 3 oz every 2 hrs. It's too much for newborn. The recommended feeding schedule is 2 oz every 3 hrs. Sigh! This is the problem that most of the breastfeeding mummy will face if they hire confinement lady. As soon as baby cry, the confinement lady will jump into conclusion saying baby is hungry. My confinement lady increase Kaitlyn's milk intake without my permission and luckily nothing serious happen to my little girl. Dr Khaw told me that there is one mummy, she overfed her baby and baby will throw out milk after every feed and due to too frequent vomiting, there is some blood in the vomit. SCARY huh! Anyway, since we find out the root cause, then i feel much better.

So what's next? Injection time.

I carry Kelvin while mom help me to hold his hand tight while Dr Khaw quickly give one injection to his buttock. Of course, we expect some cry, and we told him it's mosquito bite but the poor little boy keep saying painful. Luckily after a while, the speaker being turn off.

So, now, it's Kaitlyn's time to get her injection. I asked mom to bring Kelvin out but this little boy insist to stay in the room with the sister. When Dr Khaw gave injection to Kaitlyn, i can see Kelvin's sour face, and he looks so painful, feeling pain on behalf of mei mei...so touching! Luckily Kaitlyn cried for a while and stop.

Nowadays there is so many types of injections that need to be taken, unlike those old days, not so much of injection.

The day before your full moon....

You like to sleep on mummy's chest, so end up mummy need to sleep together with you when you refuse to sleep by yourself. Mummy can only put you down on your bed at least 30 mins later, else you will make noise and waste all my effort to tug you to sleep.

Sometimes when we want to wake you up for bath, you refuse to wake up and decide to laze on the bed. No matter how we disturb you, you will just ignore us.

So, while you are sleeping, mummy took the opportunity to take a few snap shots of your little fingers and toes. I like seeing baby's fingers and toes, they are so cute, agree?

My Little Helper

When i get to know i am expecting, i start to worry that Kelvin may gets jealous when Kaitlyn arrived. However, all my worries are just purely my over worried. Kelvin loves Kaitlyn very much, he doesn't protest when i tell him i will let mei mei sleep in his baby cot; he doesn't protest when i asked him to share his toys with mei mei, and whenever i am nursing Kaitlyn or expressing milk, he will sit beside me accompanying me.

Whenever mei mei poo poo, he will run at his top speed to look for the confinement lady and tell her mei mei poo poo and request her to change diaper for mei mei. Once, the confinement lady teased him by asking him to change the soiled nappy for mei mei and he told the confinement lady, "aunty, pls go up, mei mei poo poo, change for mei mei!" and he hold the confinement lady's hand and walk up the stairs. And whenever confinement lady change nappy for Kaitlyn, he will stand beside and look at her. Most of the night, he will request me to bring her to the confinement lady's room to look at mei mei before he goes to bed.

The teacher in nursery told me, nowadays Kelvin shows stronger and stronger interest on baby after the arrival of Kaitlyn. Previously, he likes seeing baby too.
Every morning when he sees parents drop their babies to the nursery, he will go and look at the babies, touches their hands or legs and this little cheeky boy of us even tell the teacher that mei mei called him Kelvin ke ke. *LOL*

I feel so glad seeing Kelvin able to accept Kaitlyn so well. I am so proud of you, Kelvin boy!

A Letter to my little girl, Kaitlyn

Dear Kaitlyn,

Welcome to the family!

When mummy get to know that i am pregnant, of course the first reaction is HAPPY! When you big brother Kelvin turn 1, Daddy and mummy are both ready to have a second baby and here you come! Even though we get the pregnancy result from the pregnancy test kit, but yet we still choose to get second confirmation from the doctor in hospital. YEAH! It's positive!

The doc told mummy that your first estimate due date is on 4th Nov 2008. And during second visit, doc told mummy that you are 2 weeks bigger in size, so your estimate delivery date will be somewhere around 24 ~ 26 Oct. Daddy and your brother Kelvin both are born in month of Oct, and based on the latest EDD from doc, you will be a Oct baby too! But, mummy a bit greedy, since daddy and kor kor belongs to Libra horoscope, so i always hope that you will come out before 22nd Oct, so that 3 of you are in the same horoscope group. And mummy even become greedier later, i wish u can share the same birthday as daddy. And GOD hear me........ta daaa….you come out on daddy's birthday! You decided to join the family on mummy's 37 weeks 7th day pregancy!

On 20th Oct night, suddenly mummy realized that i don't seems to feel much movement from you throughout the day , usually you move a lot regardless day or night. So mummy’s initial plan to drop by Dr Ng’s clinic on next day to let him have a check. However, on that night Kor kor suddenly told mummy that he wants to poo poo and show it to you (the night before kor kor in playing mood and refuse to do his big business, mummy coax him by telling him to poo poo and show to mei mei) , and without any fuss, mummy bring kor kor to toilet and let him finish his big business. And when mummy tugs kor kor to bed, kor kor hugged mummy tight. Hmm…mummy started to feel something not right, as kor kor don’t like to cuddle with anyone when he sleeps, he likes to have big big space when he is sleeping. Anyway, mummy just ignore all the signs :-

Daddy and mummy went to bed around 1030pm after we tugged kor kor to bed. And around 11pm, mummy start to feel some tummy tightness, an I just ignore it, thought it could be due to over worry. And throughout the nite, I cant sleep well, can’t recall when I started to have the mild contraction. I just remember the first time I ever get myself up and really look at the clock is around 1:55am, then the next time I look at the clock after next contraction is around 2:05am, it’s about 10 mins apart, I remembered I talked with daddy around 2-ish am when he feel that I keep tossing around, and I told daddy that I suspect I am having contraction. Even though this is mummy’s second pregnancy, but because when I had your kor kor, I don’t have the real experience of contraction, so mummy a bit doubt. I keep monitoring the contraction and I fall asleep and wake up again around 3am, and the contraction feel getting stronger, so I wake up, take my shower and wash hair . When mummy took my bath, saw some “show” then yeah, time to get myself to the hospital.Daddy called ah kong and ah ma to come over to our house to take care kor kor while daddy and mummy go to hospital. Dr Ng told mummy that I need to go to hospital when the contraction is 5 min apart and furthermore during my last check up, he said I am 2cm dilated, so means I will go into labor anytime.

It’s middle of the night, and we reached Adventist Hospital in 15 mins time. Went to Emergency Room, then being pushed to Maternity ward. Mummy admitted to hospital at 4:20am. when they checked at me around 5:45am, I am 4cm dilated. Another check at 8:10am, I am 6 cm dilated and the final check around 10am, I am 8cm dilated and doc broke the water bag for me. But I didn’t go for delivery immediately, I delivered you at 1:22pm. It’s a long delivery huh! Dr Ng told mummy before that because your kor kor is born through c-section, and if I opt to go for normal delivery mode for you, it will consider as first time normal delivery for mummy and in fact daddy did offer mummy to go for c-section while we were in the hospital, but mummy choose to go for normal delivery mode. Around 12:50pm, mummy suddenly have the feel of want to push, so daddy quickly get the nurse and doc into the labor room. My contraction suddenly not consistent and Dr Ng at last decided to drip mummy for induce and create contraction. While on drip, mummy scream and cry as I am having sharp pain and I have no idea how to push you out and I almost want to give up and go for c-section, but Dr Ng said too late, your head already engaged, so no matter what I must push you out. And Dr Ng said he will help me to vacuum you out. And I think after 4~5 push from me, you are out. Feel so relieve after seeing you are out! And I did it! A normal delivery mode.

So, our dear little girl,Kaitlyn, here u are, your journey to join our family. Again, Welcome to the family!

A letter to my little boy, Kelvin

Dear Kelvin,

Sorry, mummy left home while you still sleeping. I kissed you goodbye before I headed to hospital. At that moment, I wish the contraction is false alarm, I want to spend one more ME and YOU night with you. But since the contraction getting stronger and stronger, so mummy leave the house with heavy heart. Worry whether will you cry when you don’t see either me or daddy when you wake up; does ah kong and ah ma know how to pack your school bag…..On the night before mei mei is born, you gave mummy 2 strong hints and mummy just ignore it. Hmm….is this so call baby instinct?

Everyone so excited to know what is your reaction when you see your mei mei. And for mummy, I am sure you will love your mei mei very very much. And you didn’t disappointed me!

Ah kong and ah ma picked you up from school and bring you to the hospital.As soon as you step into the room, you get so excited seeing mei mei! You even asked us to put mei mei on the floor so that you can have closer view of her. You also asked us to put mei mei on the bed and within a second, you also climb up to the bed, sitting beside mei mei. Everyone so worry, they worry that you may hurt mei mei, but mummy doesn’t seems to have any worry at all, coz I trust you, I know you will love your mei mei very very much.

When we back from hospital, you have chance to sleep close to mei mei and this is how you call mei mei,

As and when you hear mei mei cry, you will quickly tell mummy and you will go to mei mei at the top of your speed. So I am sure you will gonna be big kor kor to Kaitlyn, protecting her. And everyday, you must see mei mei for a short while before you go to bed and sometimes when mummy nurse mei mei, you will cuddle beside us, I guess you misses the ME and YOU breastfeeding moment huh! Yesterday night, you lay on mummy’s chest for a while, and it makes me misses our bonding time too. So, I hugged you tight for a while and that’s our few mins ME and YOU time, the different is this time there is no breastfeeding activity going on, haha!

Kelvin, you are such an adorable baby to me. You are my baby forever and ever!
