I know it's hard for you and me!
Mummy had high fever on next day after your big one! Daddy a bit worry that the medicine that i took to bring down the fever will goes into breastmilk, he stops me from breastfeeding you, so, you only get to take the frozen ebm.
On Monday night, mummy prepare the ebm in bottle, daddy brought you into the room, play with you for short while then tug you to bed. Mummy has to stay away from you, afraid that you will stick to me. I can hear your whining sound from the living room,but i have to pretend not hearing it. A while later, daddy walked out from the room, telling me you fall asleep. Wow, good job. However, daddy did tell me that you kept want to come out from the room to look for me, and somehow, daddy managed to persuade you to sleep without mummy.
So, daddy and mummy think that we can take this opportunity to wean you off from breastfeeding before sleep.
On Tuesday night, as mummy afraid my frozen ebm may run out of stock,so we think of letting you try on formula milk. Mummy don't feel like storing those ebm as mummy need to take Paracetamol to bring down my fever. Your paed said it's ok, but daddy and mummy try to avoid giving it to you, if possible. To our surprise you took the formula milk happily, without any complain. However, you start to whine after finish the milk. This time, mummy cannot control myself, i walked into the room, almost wanna give up and let you latch on. Daddy has stronger determination, he asked me to hold on, let you roll here and there and he said eventually you will fall asleep. Mummy lie down beside you, and you sleep close to me, within few seconds, you fall asleep. Nope nope, you cheated, you pretend fall asleep, because when mummy move myself a bit, you wake up and whine again.
So, again, i sleep beside you. And this time, you choose to have a different way of sleeping. You climb onto me and put your head on my chest and sleep. Basically you are sleeping on mummy. Initially i feel funny, and keep laughing, but later the laughing change to tears. Tears dropping down as i know it's time for us to put a stop on breastfeeding. It's not what mummy want to do, but somehow, sooner or later, mummy need to wean you off. It's just a matter of time. I know it's hard for you, but it's hard for mummy too. Mummy hope you will not think that mummy don't love you anymore. Mummy still love you as before, in fact, mummy's love to you increase day by day.

One GREAT Achievement
On the same evening of your birthday, you gave all of us a big surprise. What's that?

You made your FIRST 2 STEPS unsupported!
You were holding on the handle of the staircase playing pee-ka-boo with mummy, and mummy open my arm and asked you to come to me, to our surprise, you balance yourself, then let go your hand and walk 2 steps. All of us clap our hands and you then sit on the floor slowly after the 2 steps.
When we get back to our home sweet home, again, you walked 2 steps unsupported towards me. Good job, baby!

Mummy kept looking at my desktop ticker everyday, counting down when will be your first birthday...and i'm seeing the number of days gradually decrease from 3 digits to 2 digits then 1 digit!

Today you are celebrating your birthday...
Tomorrow ...
The counting process starts again as mummy looking forward to celebrate your 2 yrs old birthday with you.

Happy BIG ONE, Sweetie Pie
Today is your BIG ONE celebration. Early in the morning, you woke up around 7:10am, gosh, it's early. And you refused to sleep no matter how we pat you. So we brought you to Ah Kong's room, let them play with you while daddy and mummy quickly get ourselves ready as we have few errands to run! We went to Sunshine market to buy fruits,had our breakfast, pick up curry chicken from U-Ton. Gosh, when we reached home, it's almost 10:30am. Mummy quickly prepare Ham and Egg sandwiches for the party, ah Ma helped to cut the fruits, daddy busy blowing balloons, and Ah Kong kept you entertained. Luckily uncle Kah and Aunt Ping arrived early, so they helped mummy with sandwich preparation and also kept you entertained. To our surprise, you let uncle Kah carry you. And you also play with his camera bag, take everything out from his bag, then put it back again. And you even took the len's cover and use it as phone with we said "hello, hello". What a naughty boy

Around 12 noon, mummy quickly get myself ready as guests may arrive at anytime while daddy went to pick up Shuenn Yun kor kor and also buy McNuggets. Our first guests are Evan kor kor, Aunty Angeline and Uncle Ben. We put the floor mat on the floor for you guys to sit and play. Also, mummy bring some of your toys for you guys to play.
Guess what, i think Evan kor kor gets bored with the toys and he found a new toy, which is the plastic stool. He pushed the plastic stool from second living room to living room, and it gets your attention. You then join Evan kor kor to push the plastic stool. Both of you pushed at different direction, since you can't walk or stand unsupported, so Ah Kong need to standby behind you, just in case you lost balance.
Soon,more and more guests arrived, and as usual, you gets excited seeing lots of kids. I think probably you used to play with lots of kids when you are in nursery. So you don't seems to feel shy. We started the party with eating all the food, and Shuenn Yun kor kor even volunteer to cook us carbonara pasta, mummy's favourite! And i shared some with you, you like it so much. You know what, i forgot to feed you the porridge and you didn't ask for it, probably too excited. Half way when mummy feeding you the pasta, you fall on me and the whole pasta drop on my shirt and pants, what a mess. But it doesn't stop you to continue enjoying the great time. Then you get to eat some of the noodle that cooked by ee-poh.After a while, when everyone almost there, we started the cake cutting ceremony. Mummy ordered chocolate moist cake as the birthday cake for you, and also 24 cup cakes with the wording "Happy Birthday Kelvin". The cup cakes seems to be the star of the day, everyone kept looking at it and after birthday song, mummy had hard time cutting the birthday cake, and since the cup cakes so attractive, all the guest took the cup cake based on the whatever character in the kid's name. Ah Kong quickly keep the cup cake with K for you, but don't don't get to eat it yet. hahaha! We did let you try a small bite of the birthday cake but you show us sour face.
After cake cutting, most of the kids start to show sleepy sign, the party end around 2:30pm. Just as per our plan. I hope you have great time, sweetie pie!

About 2 weeks before your birthday, mummy send out party invitation to friends, here is the self made party invitation card, of course with the help with some software. 
Few days before the party, mummy printed out the "Happy 1st Birthday Kelvin" and slowly cut out each word day by day. Daddy and mummy started with the party decoration one day before the real day.

i know i know time flies....
Mummy know mummy know...clock ticks and time flies. In few days time, you will be celebrating your BIG ONE and until now, seems like nothing being set up at home. Lots of ideas in my mind, and i can't sort out which one i want...duh! I think at the end, i will go for the most simple one...sorry, baby, don't angry at mummy ya!
Well, at least, mummy :-
My initial plan to have your birthday at Penang Swimming Club's Marina deck as mummy love the sea view from the platform. However, after several consideration, we drop the idea, because:-
Well, at least, mummy :-
- send out the Big One invitation,
- printed out the "Happy 1st Birthday Kelvin" wordings, cut it halfway,
- ordered birthday cake
- ordered cookies and party favor
- brainstorm on variety of food for the DAY
My initial plan to have your birthday at Penang Swimming Club's Marina deck as mummy love the sea view from the platform. However, after several consideration, we drop the idea, because:-
- Your birthday party is at afternoon, and the place will be a bit hot...we avoid doing it in the evening as mummy assume most of the kids will be active and awake during lunch time
- Most of the guests are with toddler, if we have it outdoor, hard for the parents to change their kid if the kid wanna wee wee or poo poo
- And lastly, mummy don't like hot weather, and so do you...you get cranky when it's hot
Am so excited to celebrate your Big One with you. Uncle Kah will be your main photographer on the day and also, Evan kor kor's daddy, uncle Ben , will be the backup photographer as he just bought his new toy,SLR.
