Dinner at Starview restaurant

Today, we had our dinner at Starview Restaurant, thanks to both ee-poh for paying the bill. It's the advance birthday celebration for the kids, as second ee-poh going back to Vietnam on the next day. (Eldest ee por is in colorful dress and second ee poh is in red dress.)

To my surprise, lil Kaitlyn wallop the shark fin soup without saying NO. This is her first time taking the soup and she didn't reject it AT ALL. ** No expensive no eat, duh! what a high maintenance daughter* As for Kelvin, he just loves shark fin soup and he actually ask for more. But we dare not overdose him with shark fin soup, need to keep his stomach for other food.

By the time we recalled that we hasn't take any pic, it's almost towards the end of the dinner. We had an enjoyable dinner and everyone entered the restaurant with empty stomach and leave the restaurant with FULL stomach.
Next, it's photo taking time. We get all kids to pose for us to take pic.
Little Kelvin show us his cheeky look. Little Kaitlyn shows us 无奈 look. Little Le Le (my cousin's daughter) show us blur blur look.

Our new shoes

Since we are going for holiday end of the yr, so we decided to get the kids a pairs of covered shoes.

They are not used to wear covered shoes, so to avoid any last mins hassle and unhappy parents and unhappy kids, so we got them to choose their own shoes and wear it now...and at the same time get used to wear covered shoes.

When we reached Larrie for kids shoe counter, both kids get excited and proceed to choose their own shoes. Kelvin spotted the shoes in split seconds. As for Kaitlyn, she choose to 2 shoes for herself, but i don't quite like the quality of the shoes, so i counter offer her with another shoes. Luckily she accept it. I remember my parents told me that i used to put on the new clothes and shoes immediately in the mall and pack back the old items. It happen to my kids too. They refuse to take off the new shoes, so at the end, we pack back the old shoes and happily, they continue the shopping with their new shoes.

Where is our cartoon wall stickers??

I used to have some cartoon wall sticker in our room, until .....one weekend morning, after i refresh myself with a cooling bath, when i walked into the room, i see both kids was peeling the wall sticker off, and they started to stick the sticker to themselves.

Once, they like to put stickers all over their clothes, until sometimes when i check at my washing machine, i can see some stickers in it. But now, the new way of sticking stickers is not on their clothes, but...on their hair! LOL!

2 of them even pose and request me to take their pics. If you are me, what will you do? Will you angry at them for tearing down the wall stickers or have a good laugh together with them? I choose to have good laugh with them and it's fun seeing 2 of them being so creative. Wall stickers not necessary need to be on the wall, can be on the head as accessories also, LOL!

Lantern Party

Before this, everytime when i see kids performing on the stage, i always drool wish that my kids will have chance to perform on the stage.

2 weeks ago when i picked up my girl, the supervisor told me that she would like to let Kaitlyn walk on the stage with traditional costume on their school's lantern party. Immediately i told her, "of course, good idea!" I am so happy that my little girl also get to walk on the stage. But, on the other hand, i start to worry that she may cry when she see so many pairs of eyes looking at her when she's on the stage. As for Kelvin, the teacher already told me that she wants him to get on the stage with his Malay costume, and since Kelvin had experience on the stage before, so i don't see any issue to let him go on stage again.

We reached at the club house by 7pm as all the kids that perform on that night need to be there early for make up. Both kids refuse to let teacher to decorate make up for them. And after few attempts of persuasion, they finally let the teacher to put on make up for them. As Both my kids easily sweat, they are last kid to get make up. Even after make up, they also can't sit still, kept running around at the club house. I chase them until i give up.As usual, party stay at 8pm with all the guests start with pot luck food from parents. the And the first event is singing performance by kids from age of 4 to 6. The title of song is 月亮圆. The next event is the most exciting event, which is traditional costume show. The event start with Kaitlyn's class, which is 2 yrs old. Each class will send 6 representative (3 pairs) who will be in Chinese, Malay and Indian costume. I am so excited and happy seeing my little walking on the stage without fear. After this fashion show, it's dance from age of 4, 5, and 6 respectively. It's really fun seeing the kids performing on the stage, they all look so cute!

The lantern party suppose to end with lantern parade, however, before all of us can walk around at the field, here come the drizzle. However, some parents still proceed with the parade with umbrella, but not me. It's too handy for me to hold umbrella and the kid at the same time, so we just spend some time letting the kids continue to dance jump and run on the stage, LOL!

Raya celebration in school

In conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, the kids' school has a small party at their respective center. And one of the request from the teacher is, if possible, dress them up in malay costume.

During one of my break time, my good buddy offer me to shop for the malay costume. Luckily i manage to get the costume for both of them.

At first i worried that my lil girl will refuse to dress up in the malay costume as she refuses to let me try the baju kurung for her at home. As usual, the school teachers have magic hand and they always able to make my lil follow their instruction. Happily she let them wear the malay dress and when i pick her up, i found that she's so sweet in the attire.

As for Kelvin, i never face problem to decorate dress him up. He looks so cute in baju melayu.
I managed to get both of them standing side by side for photo shooting. But, both of them kept making funny face to me. they are getting cheekier and cheekier.

Kaitlyn's first passport photo

Whenever Kaitlyn see aeroplane, she will tell me she wants to sit in aeroplane and go "kai kai". I need to make a disclaimer, i never teach her to say so, LOL! So not to disappoint my little sweetie pie......YES!! We are going for holiday...hooray!

And where are we going to? Our first shortlisted place is Singapore, followed by Hong Kong....however, the final destination is Taiwan! We are going to Singapore in Apr 2011, and as for Hong Kong, no idea when we will make it, end of next year? **hint hint to daddy** I was busy planning my HK trip with an old friend, and when i went to meet up with the travel agent for payment, he told me the Taiwan tour package. I get carried away by the farm stay experience that being included in the Taiwan tour package. After few round of discussion, we choose Taiwan as our first family trip with the 2 kids.

Today, mummy called up the photo shop and get to know that it's open, so after you wake up from your afternoon , we let you settle down for a while then off, we headed to the shop for your first passport photo shooting. As mummy wasn't sure what is the best shirt for passport photo, so.....at the end, i let you wear the same shirt as ke ke when he had his first passport photo.
For this time, i make sure i pull your shirt properly, and i missed out your hair. The outcome of the photo is...one side of your hair can't be seen from the photo. Sigh....why the lady who take the pic doesn't inform us about your hair. Never mind, you are still look cute in the pic.

Here you go...your first passport pic.And here is Kelvin's first passport pic. Both of them has few similarities:1. Both wearing same shirt
2. Both also look so blur and lost in the photo
3. Finally, both also look so cute in their blur-look

Kelvin's first time on stage

I've been waiting for D-Day........"Kelvin's school annual concert", and...finally it comes!!!

Why i'm so excited?? Because.....it's the first time my sweetie pie performing on the stage! If you follow my blog, you will know how excited am i when he went for rehearsal on 2 weeks ago.
On the big day, we get him to take his nape at 1pm, but failed. We threatened him and at last, he fall asleep around 2:30pm. And he slept for more than 2 hours, and this time i need to force him to wake up. LOL! After he wake up around 430pm, i quickly cooked him his favorite food, spaghetti. After that, we quickly bathed him, persuade him to let me make up for him. He refused to let me put on eye shadow and lipstick, and we need to use soft and hard way to make him accept the make up :) After that, we headed to Dewan Sri Pinang as they need to be there by 5:45pm.

We reached Dewan Sri Pinang around 5:55pm, and initially i afraid my little boy will cried and refuse to go into the assembly area. To my surprise, he happily wave goodbye to me. And at the end, i am the one walk away with thousands of worries. Worried that he may cried when he's on the stage, worry that he may missed his dance step, worried that he may need to go wee, worried that........

The concert start around 7:15pm, and Kelvin's dance is the 7th in the list. This year, the theme of the concert is Alibaba the musical concert. Waiting waiting and waiting...waiting is very hard, can feel that time pass very slow...When it come to 6th performance, i quickly get myself a nice spot at the front of the stage. I am in charge of taking pic while hubb in charge of recording the dance. But, at the end, hubb did a great job and i did a lousy job. I can't stop myself from laughing when i see my little boy dance. He is just so adorable. I am so proud of him for be able so steady performing on the stage. At this moment, i told myself that i over-worried. My son is doing a great job! Due to those students same class with Kelvin are quite active, so teachers decided to let them run around act as tree and snake and the title of their dance is "Cave of wonder". The girl act as tree while the boy act as snake. Basically for the whole dance, i am seeing all of them running around, moving here and there! So in the event they missed out one step, no one will realized, LOL! But, i can see the proud and satisfied look on the face of each parents of the kid, including myself.
It's very fun seeing all the excited parents moving back and forth to the front of the stage. All parents will rush to the front of the stage to capture the perfect moments during their kids' performance. And after that, the parents will walk back to their seats and another batch of parents will take over the space at the front of the stage.

Lastly, all performers line up on the stage and bow to the audiences.
The concert ended around 930pm, and the first thing my little sweetie pie told me is..."he's super hungry!" Luckily i spared a bread in my bag for him. I asked him whether will he perform again on the stage, and happily he told me, "YES". I am so proud of him and i need to admit, my little boy growing up. He is getting more and more independent.

My 2 sweethearts
