Standard One Orientation

Time flies, my little boy is attending Standard One orientation today. I waked him up at around 7:30am, and requested him to get himself ready without any help from me. Thumbs up to the daycare center where the teachers already get the kids rehearsal on getting themselves ready with full uniform for 2 times, so there is no issue for Kelvin to do it all by himself.

We get ourselves ready at very last minutes and reached the school right on the dot by 8am. As we reached there, most of the standard one kids already well seated at the assembly area.The kids then being directed to the hall for briefing session. Kelvin gets into the same class as one of his childhood good friend, Hannah Lee.

After almost an hour, finally the standard one students get to go into their respective class for textbook distribution.At the same time, we also pay for all the necessary fees. The session ended around 10am and we headed to the canteen for food arrangement.

Guess what, Kelvin met the rest of his D'Monte classmates and all of them started to run around at the school field. The kids really have a good sweat before we adjourned to the nearby coffee shop for breakfast. And by the way, we continue our next party at the coffee shop though!


Boy, hope you will do well in your primary study and hope you will enjoy the new school life!!

p/s: this morning, his shirt is well tied in into the pant, however, after few rounds of running with friends at the field, half of the shirt already out from the pant, LOL!Shoes still remain white as before though.

Half day outing with cousin

The kids cousin come from far far away from Johor and they usually visit us once a year during the year end school holiday. Thank goodness that even though they only seeing each other once a year, however, they tend to get closer year by year.  However, for this time, we get one small complain from Kelvin, he said " sigh, why all my cousins are girl, no boy can play ball with me?" And second thought, in fact, he is absolutely right, LOL! He is the only boy in our family all his cousins are girl, so most of the time, he doesn't able to kick ball wildly with all the cousins.

We had our lunch at Penang Swimming Club's The Captain's  restaurant. The kids had their first round of badminton game while waiting for food to be served. It's sort of a quick lunch because the kids can't wait to play badminton and sand !!! However, we still able to make the kids to have their lunch and dessert before they headed to badminton court for second round of game. Weather is so promising and we managed to put our feet in the sand and snap few pictures before rain come.

We call the day off and all kids are so exhausted and semi-dozed off on our way home.

You melted my heart !!!

It was raining cats and dogs outside and i was at the car porch, warned both kids not to come out. And as usual, then the kids see rain, they will get excited and will find way to come out and play the water.

So in return, i will scream and shout at them. And guess what, Kelvin was holding a key chain, then, he folded the key chain, make it into a heart shape.

K: mummy, u see, this is how i love you, **showing the heart shape to me**. This is my heart for mummy.
M: **heart almost melted** Oh...so sweet of you, thank you sweetie.

Boy oh boy...you are so good in sweet talk and always find way to melt mummy's heart :)

Our ESCAPE-ing day

No no no, we are not escaping to anywhere, but we are heading to the Escape theme park at Teluk Bahang. It's a new place for Penangnites as well as visitors to Penang.This park was officially opened in Nov, and after hearing good feedback from friends, we decided to give a try and of course, to bring the 2 kids along. We actually supposed to visit the park a week ago, however, due to some myself and the kids not feeling well, so we postponed the plane to a week later, With this, myself and hub do received lots of "complain" from the kids, LOL! So on the night before, we told the kids that we will be leaving to the park quite early and very cooperatively, they went to bed and dozed off fairly quick.

We woke up a little bit earlier than our usual weekday schedule, both me and hubb quickly get ourselves ready before we wake the two kids up. We headed to the coffee shop at Island Glades for breakfast before the long journey to Teluk Bahang.

We reached the park around 9:45am, and there's lots of car at the parking lot. As we walked nearer to the park, we can heard the cheering sound coming from the park. To our surprise, today, our Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng will be there too for his birthday celebration as well as opening ceremony of the Escape theme park. Entrance ticket is not cheap though, kids who over 4 years old need to pay entrance ticket regardless their height, and cash is not being used in the theme park, thus, we need to get a so called "park card" whereby we can load an amount of money into the card and used it for meal and games. Some games, such as Discovery Dig, tattoo/face painting/ craft at learning house.

As soon as we stepped into the park. we were amazed by the games called "Monkey Business". It's game where  the player get to climb like a pro at various level (total of 3 levels) and balancing them-self on the rope. We do not let Kelvin try on this as he is still not ready for this tough challenge yet.

 

Zoom Bug

Right beside the Monkey business games, there's a warm up games for young kids, "zoom bug". Kaitlyn only ride for less than half of the ring and she gave up, obviously, she is till not in the mood yet. As for Kelvin, he rode for more than 2 rounds, LOL! 

As we were walking towards the tubby race area, we passed by "dig discovery" counter. This is one of the educational section for the kids as well as adult whereby it takes you back to the early days of Malaysia’s mining history. At here, the kids will get to find gems and ‘gold’ hidden in sand, soil and streams. 

After this, we proceeded for the first fun family game, "tubby racer" whereby the participants need to pull the tubby tube to almost a distance of 2.5 storey height, then slide down from there. The pulling up journey is tiring as we need to walk up the small and narrow up ramp tiny alley and furthermore, we need to walk up with the 2 kids as well. Luckily, no complain from both of them, phew! And finally, we reached the top, i slide down with Kaitlyn, meanwhile Kelvin slides down with daddy. At first, hubb a bit worry and refuse to slide down with Kelvin, and for me, i love all these games, so after i double triple confirm with Kaitlyn and she said she is ok, in the count of 1,2,3, both of us slides down happily., Along the way, i kept asking her to close her eyes, checking at her whether she's afraid or not, to my surprise, she's not afraid at all, and she even asked for another round, LOL! At last, i bet hubb can't turn down Kelvin's request, he slided down with Kelvin too.

 After Tubby race, we headed to the next area which is something like the mini version of Monkey business for starter. At first, i was so worry that Kaitlyn will not complete the whole adventure, however, looks like my worry is wasted. She completed the whole adventure without any help from us nor Kelvin. As for Kelvin, he just do it all by himself too, i think it's fairly easy and less challenging for him though :) At the end of the adventure, the kid get to slide down on their own.

Our next stop is  the mini rock climbing area before we headed to "Go Ape". Go ape is the activity whereby the adult and kid can climb on tree. Of course, they have smaller tree for kid and bigger tree for adult. Kaitlyn dare not climb up further after 1 attempt, meanwhile Kelvin tried few attempts before he give up.

After Go Ape, we headed to Foxy Burrow, and this game is strictly for kids under 12 years old, no parents is allowed to tag along in the cave. However, no worry, there is CCTV outside for parents and the park people to observe the kids movement. It's a caving adventure, so kids need to climb over rocks, squeeze through gaps and duck under obstacles to complete this caving adventure!And the kid need to follow the instruction clearly else they will kept heading to dead end in the cave. In the event of exhausted or give up, the kid will need to stand in front of the CCTV, crossed their hand on their chest, and the person in charge will rescue them.

Now, the most exciting games time, Gecko tower. The park is very considerate whereby they do have one section for kids or beginners. Since i am not so keen with this climbing activity, so by default, daddy need to accompany Kelvin for this games.

We spend 3 hours in the park and we decided to call the day off. Before we leave the park, the kids requested to have another round of zoom bug. And last but not least, they get to snap their pic outside of the park before we officially say bye bye to the park. We will re-visit the park again in next time.

蒋妹妹快要病了

昨晚很夜了,蒋爸爸,蒋哥哥和蒋妹妹还没睡, 三个人在大谈大笑...天啊,蒋爸爸竟然没发现蒋妹妹之前一直咳个不停...我这宝贝,当她一直咳个不停,她将会做"鱼翅"给大家忙个没完没了. 所以, 我就下了命令,告诉蒋爸爸若蒋妹妹代会儿呕吐,他得清理.

话才说完不久,就听到尼加拉瀑布声从厕所发出来, 哦....原来蒋妹妹在呕吐了.对了,因她很容易反胃,然后就呕吐,所以经过几次的训练, 蒋妹妹会在她将要呕吐之前跑到厕所去. 吃饱太得空蒋哥哥就走了去看一看, 然后赶紧跳进背窝里, 他说很臭喔...那当然,呕吐曾几何时是香的.

蒋妹妹翻江倒海的呕吐后, 终于雨过天晴, 大家也就各自各位呼呼鲁鲁来个美梦…..

今早,当我摸她的额头,发现她有点烧...可怜的蒋妹妹,她已开始向我发出快要生病的讯号了. 希望吃了退烧药,希望蒋妹妹可以早日康复.

Sweet talk by the kids

Monday night, since both kids still so energetic and i need to tidy up the room, so as usual, i take the opportunity to chat with both kids.

Kaitlyn was playing with her doll and pretending that she is having a shopping spree with the doll.

K: mummy, bye bye, i am going out with baby
M: where are u going with the baby?
K: we are going to Singapore for shopping
M: why not u leave baby in Penang with mummy and u go shopping
K: no mummy, we go Singapore together!
M: **wah, make me so happy!!** hmm, so u will u leave baby in hotel with me and u go shopping?
K: no mummy, we go shopping together with baby
M: ar, then how u gonna shop with baby?
K: we can put baby in stroller
M: hmm...ok, ok **make me so happy though**

Then, i turn to Kelvin

M: boy, next time after you get married, will u still stay with daddy and mummy?
K:*without any second thought* yes, of course i will still stay with you and daddy!!
M:*so i raise the question up another level* boy, if next time, if you have a girlfriend and mummy don't like her, then how?
K:*uh huh, now, he paused for a while* mummy, why u don't like my girlfriend?
M: I don't know why, i am just giving you an example, what if i don't like her?
K:*a while later, only answer me* then, i don't want my girlfriend.
M:*hahahahaha...sure or not, liusten first huh!* oh, like that huh!
K: after i get married, i will buy a big house , bring my girlfriend (he still doesn't really know that after married, the girlfriend should be call wife) back and we stay together
M: ok ok, good boy

Before he proceed further, i call the night off and fast fast ask both of them to keep their books and sleep. Because i worry that they may ask me too many questions and i am unable to answer them, LOL!

As for me, i went to sleep in the smile on my face after getting sweet talk from both kids. Sweeter than having a bowl of dessert.

Attending wedding dinner at Sungai Petani

When i told the kids that we are going to Sungai Petani for wedding dinner, both kids so excited. Usually, i will not share the outing plan with the kids until a day before because i want to avoid the excitement and never ending question from the kids, especially Kelvin. :)

On Sunday, after Kelvin's Taekwondo class, we bring the kids for lunch and told them that they MUST take their nap when we reach him as we will be out for wedding dinner later of the day. Very cooperatively, the kids went for their nap and wake up around 5pm, just in time for all preperation!

After everyone are ready, here we come, Sungai Petani!!! Along the way, my boy kept bombarded me with lots of questions, yes..this is my boy, he has endless energy and endless WHY WHY WHY question anytime anywhere. I try my very best to answer most of his questions. However, after 30 minutes of journey, he seems tone down a bit, probably he feel tired because he has been sitting in the car for so long, LOL!

After around 45 minutes of driving, finally we reached the wedding venue. The wedding is at Dewan Persatuan Pendidikan Akhlak Lip Seang Kor. The entrance of the place is actually a narrow road and as soon as we turn into the road,both kids statred to comment,

my girl said "wah, we go into jungle!"

my boy said "daddy, we go into jungle!!"

LOL!!!! Both kids commented such a way because there is quite lot of bushes at the both side the road leading to the Lup Seang Kor moral uplifting society, and furthermore, the road is a non-tar road, so both kids has an impression that this is not a city, LOL!

We reached at around 7:35pm and wedding dinner start at 8pm, phew, not a long waiting time though.There's 4 kids at our table and while waiting for food to be served, and since there isn't any place for kids to run around, the kids were allowed to play game on the smartphone, however, after a while, my boy started to play with friend's kid. As soon as food is served, all parents requested the kids to pass back the phone and no fuss from the kids. Must be everyone is hungry!! Food food food, yummie, food are quite delicious and surprise me that my picky eater girl tried every dishes!!! Not to mention on my boy, he is just a mini me, we both enjoy food :)   Luckily both of them quite discipline throughout the dinner and do not make any noise.  They almost try each of the dishes. Thumbs up!

We left the wedding place before the wedding ended because we need to drive another 45 minuted back to Penang island. On the way back, both kids should be exhausted, so not much noise from them.

骂你,罚你,情非得已....I feel so guilty

今天, 不懂什么原因, 蒋大弟竟然在大庭广众下流泪.

As usual, Kelvin attending his Sunday Taekwondo class, and as usual, he enjoyed himself very much. Towards the end of the class, the instructors requested all of them to put on their sparring gear, YEAH, time for sparring. After one round of sparring with one of his friend, he rested at the side, talking happily with others.

快乐的世间过得很快, after a while, my boy being asked to spar with another boy who has higher belt than him, and out of our expectation, my boy burst into tears. The instructor did try to make him stop crying, but his tears seems like a burst pipe, keep coming out. So, he being asked to stand aside. And after a while, the instructor tried to request him for another round of sparring, and again, his tears pipe burst again. Sigh. I was so mad as he refused to tell out what is the reason.

When we got home, i asked him again and he can't really give me a good reason why he cry, he told me he feel very hot with the sparring gear. Well, i don't think this is the real reason. So, as the result, he being prohibited from playing tablets and watching TV for a week as a punishment.

When i sit down and think over again and again, i feel so guilty.I shouldn't push him so much, should let him grow at his own pace. But i don't want my boy grow up in a sissy way, i want him to be able to express himself out well so that he can find his own way out. 毕竟, 逃避现实不是一个好办法嘛. Hopefully my boy can overcome his own fear soon.

可恶的妹妹

今早, 当我还在忙碌地帮自己打扮,准备去上班,突然间听到"蹦"的一声, 哎呀,不用问,知道一定是妹妹又在欺负哥哥. 转身一看, 可怜的哥哥,无奈的告诉我, 妹妹又打他了.

以往的我, 我会选择用爱的教育去跟女儿谈,但是,她竟然敬酒不喝喝罚酒,一次又一次欺负哥哥. 对, 咱们家里的小妹比哥哥来得顽皮, 可能看太多Tom and Jerry 卡通片吧, 哈哈! 我曾经向学校老师求助, 叫他们帮我在学校跟女儿洗洗脑, 但是, 在学校, 她竟然是个小天使, 好乖,好乖!

当她做错事,我教训她时, 她就会梨花带泪,很委屈的大泪掺小泪,但是我是不会让步. 我会跟她说, 再我数到三之前,她最好收声. 当然, 这方法挺好用地 :)

我没什么大期望,只希望妹妹可以不再那么可恶, 不要在欺负善良的哥哥. 好怕,有一天,当哥哥忍无可忍, 一脚 turning kick 过去, 恐怕妹妹可能会被踢到粘在墙壁上.

my girl found out something exciting...

While she's at her usual study routine at night, suddenly my girl came to me...

K ~ my girl ; M ~ Me

K: Mummy, i found out that in daddy's name, he has the word "Chiang" like what i have in my name
M: Yes, dear, coz all kids usually will follow their daddy's surname, so if ur daddy's surname is "chiang", then both you and daddy will have the same word in your name (not sure she understand me or not)
K: Mummy, but ke ke's name also got "Chiang"
M: (i bet she doesn't understand my earlier explanation) Yes, dear, coz both you and ke ke are daddy's kid, so he also has "Chiang" in his name.
K: Ohhhh ....(happily she walked away)
M: *phew* Luckily she doesn't ask any further as i am out of idea how to explain to her :)

Finishing his first milestone

Time flies, in a blink of an eye, my little caterpillar become butterfly. To me, everything it's just like everything just happened on yesterday.

His first Graduation!

10th Nov 2012, I want to jot down this memorable day as this is my boy's first graduation day! He has finished the first milestone! For this year, the school is combining 4 centers young graduates together for today's graduation ceremony.

 About a month before the BIG DAY, we being informed by the school that my boy will be delivering the English graduation speech on THE DAY. And since the final exam is just around the corner, so we didn't push him too much and only start pressing him on memorizing the speech about 1 week before the graduation. I can remember vividly that for the continuous night, every night i will scream and shout at him couching him on the speech and gesture, else he will either forget his speech or his gesture.

For this past event, he has been wearing Evan's black pant, and in very last minute, a week before the graduation day, i managed to get him his own black pant from lovely lace. Again, thanks to aunt Angeline's suggestion, else i will be running around just like chicken without head looking for the long black pant.

And finally, the day has come. Early in the morning, around 7:15am, i need to pull him out from his cozy blanket and give him a quite bath, and....dressed him up! Yes, he needs to wear white long sleeve and blank long pant. After everyone are ready. off we headed to USM for the graduation. Mind you, yes, my boy is having his first graduation in USM, LOL!

While he was delivering his speech, i am having cold sweat as i worry that he may forget his speech. And voila, he delivered the entire speech without any problem. Looks like i am over worry, i should have confident on him :)

Besides speech, the young graduate also do a round of singing. Kelvin and his schoolmates sang 我相信 by 杨培安. After the performance by young graduates from 3 D'Monte center, here come the graduation certification presentation time, each young graduate will proceed to the stage when their name being called out.

Finally, the ceremony come to the end after each young graduates receive their certificate. The kids then enjoy playing with their friends in the hall. They didn't really feel sad as most of them will still continue their schooling life with D'Monte Educare 安亲班. I hope that they will maintain their friendship forever as some of them already know each others since young age.

Our first welcome note!

Has been long time i missing in action in blogging world and now i am back in action! I realized that i NEED to jot down the growing up journey of the kids so that one day when i get old and lost my memory, at least i can browse this blog and read through the post again. Since it's a brand new start, so i will not continue to update my old blog, instead, will start a brand new blog.

It's fun time

A friend of mine asked whether i'm interested to purchase the coupon for Hi-tea at Naza Tayyla Hotel, and at the same time can let the kids to have a splash in the pool. Without  much thought, i asked her to proceed with the booking. Well, eating wor...it's my all time favorite! ( yes, can tell from my size)

We suppose to go hi-tea on 11th Mar, but due to another friend of us want to bring her daughter to the disney on Ice show, so our hi-tea meet up get delayed until 14th Apr.

Well, variety of food not much, hmm..what do you expect, we are purchasing coupon at the price of less than RM20 and i don't really expect much. Furthermore, it's hi-tea, so expect to see pancake, LOL!







We spend about 1 hr in the dining area and while eating, the kids kept eyeing at the pool. And as you know, i am afraid of sun, deep in my heart kept pray for mr Sun to go away.....

After a while, all kids seems lost interest with the food then we decided to proceed to the pool. I choose to stand at the shady place and let hubb and other kids' mummy help the kids to change into their swimsuit.

On your mark...get set , JUMP!

It's so hot but for the kids, the love it so much mainly they get to play with water!!!! As for all the adults, we moved to shady place, LOL! After close to 1 hr, we need to pull all the excited kids out from the water. Of course, we do encounter lots of "don't want", "why so fast" from the kids. but looking at the sky, dark cloud coming towards our direction, so we have to force them to come up.

We let the kids take their quick shower at the pool side and before we leave the hotel, the kids found another place to hang out.

2012 school concert

sigh...what a mess. This year's school concert coincidentally fall on the day we come back from Singapore. when i saw the memo, i tried to hint Kelvin that why not he skip this year's school concert and immediately he gave me a big NO NO. He told me this is his last year in kindy and he NEED and MUST participate in the school concert.

As for Kaitlyn, she seems to still not fully understand on what is this about even though she participated in last year's school concert. To my girl, it's just a dancing time. LOL!

Few days ago, my boy come back happily and told me that teacher wants him to act the "bomoh" character in this year's school concert. I really laugh out loud and asked him of all, why he being chosen to be a "bomoh". He kept ask me to show him how a "bomoh" looks like, what does "bomoh" do and how does "bomoh" talk.........

Today, i received a call from school principal telling me that Kelvin most probably wont get to participate in the acting because the group will be having a intensive training during the week where we will be in Singapore. Oh no !!! Now, my little boy may not know about this yet, and hope that when teacher pass this message to him, he will take it positively and wont feel disappointing. And yes, he will still take part in this year's school concert, instead of acting, he will join the other group dancing.

And keep my fingers crossed that, our returning flight will be on time because the kids need to take the short nap before the school concert at night, i am more worry with Kaitlyn because if she's lack of sleep, she will become a cranky girl, LOL!

Time to mess up the kitchen

Yesterday was a bad day for people at Bandar Acheh in Indonesia because earthquake strike their area. And since there's so many people kept sending message saying not to go anywhere besides staying home, so after dinner, we headed back home.

Since the night still young, and both of you still very energetic, and i suddenly thought of making milo biscuit cake, so i told both of you to get ready with your apron and i have a secret assignment for both of you. In no time, both of you get ready with your apron and wait for me instruction.

As i don't have a rolling pin, so i gave each of them a water tumble to roll the biscuit. Each of them get 10 pcs of biscuit from me, 1 zip lock bag as well as 1 water tumble. I requested them to put the biscuit one by one into the zip lock back and roll it with the water tumble. See, the 2 little helper so focused working on their assigned task.

While they are working on their part, i am busy at the kitchen heating up the butter, mixing the milo and condensed milk. After a while, here's the final result from them. Both happily pose for daddy.

Now, it's my turn to work. I add the smashed biscuit into the mixture of butter, milo and condensed milk, stir for a while, cool it down, then pour it into a container to be refrigerated. As of this morning, the cake still a bit soft, as it's suppose to be harder a bit. Maybe my fridge is not cold enough?? LOL!

First tremor experience for the kids

Yesterday we experienced tremor due to earthquake at Bandar Acheh, Indonesia. The first tremor was at around 430pm when both of them having their afternoon nap, so they don't feel it.

The second tremor happened around 6:55pm, during that time, Kelvin is attending his Taekwondo class in the room while me and Kaitlyn is at the living room. As soon as i feel the tremor, i looked at my little girl, and found that she looked at me with a confused face. Obviously she doesn't know what is happening, so i explain to her what is happening and after a while, she told me that she still feel that herself is moving left and right, LOL! I then asked me to stand up and walk around, and i re-check with her whether she still feel that she's moving left and right or not, she told me NOPE.

As soon as Kelvin finished his Taekwondo class, i asked whether he feel the tremor and he told me that he did. He said he was unable to balance himself well during the tremor, LOL! Am not sure whether he did feel it or not. But at least now, both of them know what is tremor.

Kelvin's yellow belt grading

It's APRIL FOOL day and guess what we are doing?? We are going to Penang United Taekwondo Society for Kelvin's color belt grading. Yes, we were there last Dec for his white -> yellow color belt grading, and this time, it's for yellow 1 -> yellow 2 color belt grading.

We waked up very early, get ourselves ready and wake my sweet little boy up, and with his blur blur face, we went out for breakfast. We reached the grading place around 8:50am and it's already quite crowded.

 At around 9am, the taekwondo master in charged request all to be seated and the session start with some warm up and talking from the master in charged.

 

After while belt grader finish their grading, ti's yellow belt's graders turn. Start with yellow 1, and phew, else my poor boy already feel bored as he doesn't get to run around at Dojang.

 

It was quite fast and i am busy snapping photo here and there and at the same time feel so anxious. My boy looks steady and i guess i am just over worry, LOL! We shall know the result in another week or so, good luck, my little sweet boy!

My little girl

She deosn't know lots of word yet...but she just love reading, but what amaze me is, her memory is quite strong, she can more or less remember the some of the sentences in the story book that we used to read for her.

Nowadays, her favorite pass time activities will be typing and puzzle. when we were at my parents house, she will hijack either ah kong or ah ma's computer for typing, and when we are at our house, most of the time she will hijack my laptop. and almost everyday and night, she will need to play with her snowman puzzle for few times, else she will feel her day is incomplete without touching the puzzle, LOL!

It's bed time

When i tell them, "it's bed time, pls go to the room and sleep"...

First, they will need to do some before sleep warm up...yes, warm themselves up so that they don't need to use blanket at nite, LOL!

 Then, they will tell me that they need to read book, do puzzle, all sort of reading activities will get kick start.

But mot of the time, i need to tell them to keep the book, go brush their teeth and get ready to sleep. I know i am bad, but o choice, coz the mummy already exhausted with her super boring job and no more energy for them. Wish i could do it better though. And sometimes, i do wish that i can turn myself back to a kid and enjoy my life as a kid.
