New year new shoesssss for me!!!

After dinner, we brought you to Gurney Plaza for a quick shopping before heading to Adventist for final jab of antibiotic. In less than 1 hr time, we managed to get you a pair of new shoes, a pair of sandals and replenish some groceries for you.

Mummy having hard time to find a nice sandals for you..and before i decided to give up, i saw the Larrie for kids corner, and we quickly walked over there. You even help mummy to choose the sandals. You took one shoes and handed it to mummy. The shoe looks quite nice, but too bad, it's the smallest size and yet still too big for you. I found one sandals and thank god, there is small size for you. Mummy let you try on the it and you refuse to let us take it off from you. So we ended up let you wear the new shoes and pack your old shoes in the box

Day 5

As usual, we went to Mandarin Café for breakfast. Then we went to Tesco. So coincident, there is lion dance performance in Tesco, but since it’s not start yet, so we went to walk around in Tesco. You refused to sit in shopping cart and instead, you want to push the cart. Mummy put a 5kg detergent in the cart so that you wont “fly” with the cart. After a while, we heard drum sound and u know what, all parents carry their kid and run around in Tesco chasing after the lion. We also join the crowd. You don’t afraid of the lion and you enjoy the lion dance performance. After that, we went o Ah Kong’s house. When you were there, you kept telling everyone at home “co”
Second ee-poh need to meet with her friend at Sunway Hotel , so we decided to bring you along since we will be going for dinner after that. You were having great time running around at the hotel lobby. After that we went to May Garden for dinner, and you had tou fu for dinner.

Today, after the injection, the nurse removed the needle for you. You were crying when they remove it. I guess mainly you had phobia and thought they want to do something on your hand again. Very soon, everything done!! And you know what, your hand super smelly!!!! After all, it has been wrapping up for 6 days, of course smelly huh! The nurse advises not to wash it til Monday! But…tell you what, mummy cannot stand the smell, I wipe your hand with warm water when we reach home.

We need to give u oral antibiotic for 2 days and come back on Wednesday for check up.

"Holiday" - Day 4

Yippie, Dr Tan said we can go home….there comes the end of our 4 days 3 night stay in Adventist. However, we need to go back to Adventist on Sat and Sun night to get te antibiotic injection.While waiting for your medicine, mummy realised that we forgot to cut off your admission tag, so Mummy borrowed scissors from the cashier and cut it off for you. You were busy playing with it. You even put it into your mouth, trying to chew on it. Duh! So hungry meh?

You were very energetic and active along the way home. When we reached home, we bath you and let you take your morning nap. Very fast, you go to la la land.

Tonight, daddy will bring you to uncle Chong’s house for dinner before going to Adventist got injection. You were a bit cranky and keep showing your hand that has bandage on it. Mummy need to keep assuring you that it look nice, else you will keep making noise. Hmm, I think you afraid the bandage may spoilt your reputation huh! Haha!

Around 8:30pm, we left Uncle Chong’s condo at 1 Persiaran Gurney, going to Adventist for the injection. Today, when the nurse gave you injection, you were quite cooperative didn’t make much noise, bravo baby!

"Holiday" - Day 3

We still cannot discharge yet as Dr Tan said he needs one more day to make sure the tonsillitis is under control. So, no choice, another night in hospital.

We decided to bath you today. We get the nurse to wrap both of your hand with plastic bag so that water wont go in. And since you kept splashing water while we bath you, end up both bandage were wet. We request the nurse to change the bandage for you and at the same time Ah Mah decided not to wrap your left hand. Luckily you didn’t uses your left hand to pull the bandage on right hand.

See, you are so busy playing in the room ...walk here walk there, throw this throw that....

In the evening, when Ah Kong played with you, suddenly you throw our some milk. And make some noise after that. After we brought you to playroom, you happilly playing with all the toys. So mummy takes the opportunity to feed you your porridge. And guess what, you throw out all the porridge and this really scared all of us. And we noticed that your body a bit heaty. The on duty nurse called up Dr Tan and his advice is to monitor for 2 hr before taking any action. Luckily after the throw out, you seem ok. You refuse to sleep in the baby cot and Daddy tried to tug u to sleep with him on sofa bed but you refuse to sleep, so mummy’s turn to try. And very fast, you were in your la la land, u must be missing mummy's smell huh! What a relief to daddy and mummy seeing you sleep so soundly. By the way, daddy is the one who sleep on sofa bed and mummy sit on chair and sleep beside you else you will cry when you don't see any of us beside you when you open your eyes. Mummy's back senget now...

Hope everything is ok and we can discharge on tomorrow.

"Holiday" - Day 2

Thank god, you look better and more active today. No more cranky and in fact, started to be naughty. When Dr Tan drop by to check on you, to our surprise, you didn’t cry. You even kiss him. Dr Tan was very happy as usually whenever u sees him, u will greet him with your crying noise. He check on the ears and throat again to make sure everything ok. The blood test shows that you had bacteria infection, and other than that, everything is ok!

Oh yeah, Uncle James, Ms Goh and Poh Poh dropped by to visit you. You were so happy when you see them.

You keep insisting us to bring you to the playroom. It’s a busy day for you as you keep walking around, and whenever you sees and cleaners or “food dispatcher”, you will call them kakak clear and loud. And you made everyone happy as most of them are old and they said u made them feel young by calling them so! And when you were in the playroom, you will walk to elder boy and call them “ke ke” and elder girl and call them “jie jie”. You even shake hand with them.

Mummy brought you your favourtite toys so that we can keep you stay in the room at least 30 mins. However, you show more interest on walking around instead of staying in the room. Do you think by wrapping both your hands are safe? No way!! You use your mouth to bite the bandage to unwrap it. Duh!! Kinda creative huh! You refuse to sleep at night and super active. Daddy and mummy super tired but you still jump up and down from the bed. Seeing you so active, mummy feel relief as this is sign of recovering.

"Holiday" - Day 1

It was a sunny Wednesday and is public holiday, so we lazed for a while then only get out from the bed. Mummy thought you fully recover from the ear infection. So happily, we brought you out for breakfast at Mandarin Café, our usual place for breakfast with you. You didn’t finish up the koay teow thng and keep making noise throughout the breakfast. We thought you just cranky so doesn’t pay much attention to your “complain”

Everything seems ok until in the afternoon you started to make noise, and the only way to make you quiet is to bring you out. So daddy and mummy brought you to Tesco and we managed to keep you quiet for a while before you started to make noise. Your body a bit warm and daddy decided to let you take paracetamol. We didn’t have our dinner at Ah Kong’s house, instead, we went back and let you sleep as you didn’t take your afternoon nap. You slept for a while and keep waking up and crying. Around 8:30pm, you wake up again and cry badly. This time, your body very hot, and without any doubt, daddy quickly decided to send you to Adventist Emergency Room. The traffic was very bad as the Thaipusam celebration is not yet over.

When the nurse in ER took your temperature, gosh, it was 39.3 degree. Mummy quickly ask for suppository, however, the nurse in ER said they can’t do anything before the doctor check on you. Mummy very unhappy with their slow response and actually grumble at the nurse. At the same time, I get scolded by daddy for grumbling at the nurse. Well well, in such a critical situation, why can’t the nurse just pick up the phone and ask for medical officer’s advice. Luckily mummy has Dr Tan’s cell phone, quickly I called Dr Tan and informing him we are in ER. At the same time, mummy requested the nurse to call Dr Tan to get instruction over the phone. Dr Tan asked them to give superiority immediately while waiting for him to come. You still very cranky and keep making noise.
Mummy doesn’t consider it as crying as there is no tear coming out from your eyes. Later, mummy managed to keep you occupy with the empty water container in the ER room.

About 20 mins, Dr Tan arrived and when he checked on you, he found that ear infection fully recover and he wonder why you still not feeling well. In fact, Dr Tan did check with mummy your condition on Tuesday night, and both of us were happy as your fever totally subsided. And who knows, it comes back on Wednesday. Dr Tan then suspect could be the throat which give you problem. DUH!!! Yes, he is right, you are having throat infection, tonsillitis!!! So what is next???! Dr Tan advice to get you admitted as throat infection a bit handy to tackle. Normal oral antibiotic take longer time to effect, you need to get the antibiotic through injection. And we found another problem, which is, your hand a bit puffy and hard to find vein, so he need to put needle into your hand and wrap it up so that they wont need to find vein when they need to inject the antibiotic for you. At the same time, he needs to get some blood to perform blood test.

Baby,
You know what, the blood collecting session is the most torturing for us. You were crying so badly and mummy stand there, don’t know what to do. Seeing you cry in pain, mummy really heart broken. I can fell that tears rolling in my eyes and I keep telling myself I cannot cry, I must be tough so that I can support you. You hold to my hand real hard and in the middle of collecting blood, you call “Ma Ma” in pain. Gosh, at that moment, mummy nearly collapse, really heart broken and want to take you away from Dr Tan.

We need to wrap both of your hand as we afraid you may pull the bandage that being used to wrap the needle. You were a bit unhappy at first as you can’t move your fingers freely. But very fast, you get used to it. Thank God!

After that, we went to do the admission and then we being brought to the ward. Pediatric ward was full so we need to stay in the surgical ward which is just opposite the Ped ward. For the whole night, you keep waking up and cry. Maybe you don’t get use to sleep in new place and at the same time you worry daddy and mummy may leave you alone in the hospital. You being given paracetamol every 4 hrs to control the fever. Mummy sit on the chair beside you bed so that whenever you wake up, I will be able to see you and talk you to calm you down. It’s really a torturing day for all of us.

Life as a toddler

U think life as toddler is free an easy? Let me tell u the truth.

It's not free and easy.

See, every morning especially weekend, i need to wake my dedi and mami up, else they will sleep until dunno what time.

Then i need to walk to the other room, check on the weighing scale, make sure it's still working so that when mami stand on it, the scale will not give wrong measurement.

Then i need to pick up the phone when someone calling.

Drum drum drum!

Ah Kong wanted to get u a drum long long time ago...he just can't get one that he likes!

At last...after searching for close to half a yr, he finally get one for you.

The drum manage to keep you busy for a while. Oh yeah, u know what, Ah Kong even bought along few new year songs and whenever you want to play with your drum, u will insist us to turn on the VCD for you. So mummy will get to hear "tong tong tong qiang, tong tong tong qiang, gong xi gong xi" for don't know how many times per day! **pengsan**

Lovely gift from China

Who is China gave you this pair of lovely shoes? Nope nope, it's from Miss Goh (your nursery principal), uncle James (Ms Goh's hubby) and Poh Poh(Ms Goh's mummy). They went to China for holiday and they bought you a suit of Chinese traditional costume and a pair of shoes. Oops, mummy don't have the pic of the Chinese traditional costume, only have the pic of the shoes.



Initially, you a bit reluctant to wear it and out of sudden you ask us to wear it for you, and from there onwards, you will request us to put on the shoes for you when you are at home.

You even have different shoes for different occasion:-
kai kai (shopping) or outing
for walking at the garden in ah kong's house
shoes to wear in the house

Aeroplane

Since small baby, you will look up at the sky whenever you hear and aeroplane sound.

And when you are 14 months, one fine day, you picked up the word plane from aeroplane.

While shopping at Tesco, mummy bought this RM5 aeroplane from the 5 ringgit shop. This is suppose to be a shape sorter toy, but mummy decide to let you play it as aeroplane. You love it at your first sight. On our way home, you kept playing with the aeroplane and didn't make any noise at all. Daddy even miss the Tesco exit, he said you are too quiet until he get lost. Haha!

Middle Ear infection...cont

After lunch, mummy gave teacher Chuah a call and she told me you are doing great today! Very cheeky though!

You took your milk in the morning, then play, then morning nap. Wake up from morning nap, take porridge, then play...then follow by afternoon nap. So far so good.

Hope this is a good sign and your ear infection is recovering. So means, no swimming for time being, ok!

Middle Ear infection...OUCH!

This morning you wake up same time as mummy and refuse to continue to sleep no matter how. So no choice, so mummy put you in the cot so that you wont walk around while me and daddy busy preparing ourselves to work. Everything look fine...until...

Around 11am while mummy attending meeting, suddenly i received phone call from nursery. When i saw the phone number, i started to worry. As soon as i picked up the call, teacher Chuah in her worry voice told mummy that you cried non stop no matter how hard they trick you. You were under her care since 3 months old and she never see you behave so cranky. She gave you your favourite toy ~ phone, u pushed it away. Even Uncle James and Poh Poh (Uncle James's MIL) also can't stop you from crying. Mummy quickly gave daddy a call and we decided to drop by to have a look. Daddy has to come all the way from Bukit Minyak.

While we were on the way to see you, teacher Chuah called again saying you are ok. But since we were on the way there, so daddy and mummy decided to drop by to say "Hi" to you. When we reached the nursery, you were having fun at Ms Goh's house. Then Uncle James brought you back to baby class and teacher Chuah fed you porridge. You took the porridge happily. So mummy daddy went to take our lunch.

As soon as we sat down for lunch, teacher Chuah called again saying you cried again and this time, due to you cry too hard, you throw out all your porridge. So we quickly finish up our lunch and rushed back to see you.

You were sleeping in teacher Chuah's arm while mummy reached the nursery. As soon as mummy carry you, you sit up straight and open your eyes big and keep calling kakak for few times. See, you are back to yourself again. And when daddy carry you, you happily say out "paaant" (plant) loudly. See lah, you doesn't looks like someone who cried badly for 2 times!

Daddy and mummy decided to bring you to see Dr Tan, to get him check on you as we never see you cry so bad before. On our way there, mummy told you not to cry when the nurse take your temperature and also mummy asked you to open your mouth wide and say "aaaaa" when Dr Tan want to check on you. You repeat doing "aaaaa" for few times after mummy. We reached the hospital around 1:40pm and clinic will only open by 2pm. So we wonder around, and when the nurse took your temperature, you didn't make any noise, but the bad news is, your fever is 38.8 degree!! Gosh!!!! The fever doesn't really bother you as you still walk around and play happily at the waiting area.

While waiting, you heard baby crying and you pretend crying too. Naughty boy! A while later, ta daaaa show time!!! Since your fever is over 38.5 degree, so you need suppository. Luckily the nurse help mummy to insert voren into your bum bum. You make a bit of fuss.

Next, we proceed to dr Tan's room. As soon as you see him, you instruct mummy to bring you out. Daddy and mummy take turn to hold on you while Dr Tan check on your ears and mouth. Gosh, you are having middle ear infection. According to Dr Tan, middle ear infection very painful, no wonder you cry so bad. Careless mummy, you actually show some sign but mummy ignore it. You keep poking and pull your ears recently and mummy thought u are playing with me, so i didn't take it seriously. Until yesterday when Dr Tan asked me whether you show any sign recently, then only i realised these are all the signs! Sorry baby!

You kept crying after Dr Tan checked on you, so daddy has to carry you out from the room while mummy continue to get more info from Dr Tan. Now i experience the scary crying that teacher Chuah mentioned. No matter how mummy do can't stop you from crying. And when we pass by OB clinic, nurse Linda saw you and she came by to help mummy to calm you down, she even ran into their break area to get u a Ferrero Rocher chocolate, also fail to stop you from crying. Your crying voice nearly tear the roof down! Mummy brought you to the pharmacy where daddy waited to make payment and for your medication, still crying crying and crying. Mummy then try to let you listen to 童话 (Fairy tale) sing by Michael. To my surprise, you stop crying and started to move left and right, dancing with the music. Phew!!!

After daddy paid and collect medicine, we headed back. When we pass by OB clinic, you wave bye bye happily with nurse Linda. The cranky baby now become little cute baby! haha!

When we reached home, you ask for milk and after milk, you started to play and refuse to sleep. Mummy let you play for around 30 mins and later force you to sleep. However, you slept for 30 mins only. We then went to school to collect your dinner. So nice of them, teacher Chuah called and ask mummy to pick up your dinner as they cooked your portion too! Earlier mummy was worry what to cook for your dinner, she is my life saver Then we headed to Ah Kong's house after pick up the porridge.

After daddy, mummy and you had our dinner, you asked everyone to go out to the garden behind the house, you even asked Mimi to go out. You busy walking around and "play" with Mimi. You even attempt to release Boyboy from his house. We accompany you at the garden for
half an hour then we dragged you into the house as ah kong, ah mah and ee pohs need to take their dinner.

We left ah Kong's house around 8pm, back to our home sweet home. You went to your lala land after your milk.....You seems better after taking the antibiotic.

You make my day!

Today you woke up around 8am, then as usual, you will call "pa pa" clear and loud. Mummy pretend sleeping since u call daddy and not me. Awhile later, you roll over to me and call out "ma ma" clear and loud. Yippie, finally!!! This is the moment that i've been waiting for ever since u started to call "pa pa". So quickly, i wake up and give u a hug, then i fell into your trap! You then pick up your used diaper, walked to the , asked me to open the door for you as you want to throw away the dirty diaper.

I have no choice besides follow your instruction, because you are such a good helper, always volunteer to throw the dirty diaper for mummy every morning. After that, we repeat our usual weekend morning activities which is give u a bath! Mummy prepare water for you while daddy keep you entertain with your favourite VCD. After your bath, it's daddy and mummy's turn to take our shower as we will basically get wet as you will keep splashing the water in your mini bath tub. Daddy mummy enjoy bathing you :)

Learning how to wash hair

I read an article about how to teach toddler washing their hair. One of the way is to let them mess up with your hair, hoping from there they pick up the fun messing with their own hair.


So, i started to let Kelvin touches my hair and now, whenever i said "baby, wash hair for mummy", he will uses his hand and rub rub my hair for few times, then giggle happily.

Baby,
This morning, you wake up around 6am for milk, after that mummy sleep beside you. Guess what, you keep pulling mummy's hair as if you are washing my hair for me. Mummy has to pretend i'm sleeping,else you may end up wake up and play with me. After a while, you fall asleep.

Yummie yummie food!

Can you see how much our little one enjoy eating his spaghetti.

Everytime after swimming at Penang Swimming Club, i will order the kid's spaghetti for Kelvin and he love is sooo much! So do i!!

Finally....you and your sandal

Whenever you walk, there will be blinking light and this really annoyed you. You will stop walking, sit down, took off the sandals and check on it. And guess what, instead of wearing it, you treat it as a toy! You will press on the sandals and see the blinking light.

Finally, one fine day,you decided to wear the sandals that mummy bought for you few months ago. Don't your toes feel cooler when you are wearing sandals?

I love the musical toy!

As soon as mummy unwrap the gift, you took it over from me and start playing with it.

See, how our little boy engross with the toy. He press press press, repeat repeat repeat not feeling bored with all those songs.

It's party time!

Daddy,mummy and you being invited to Aunty Angeline's condo for post new year BBQ on 5th Jan,2008! You woke up from sleep around 6:00pm, after taking your bath, we headed to the party. As soon as we left Ah Kong's house, here comes the rain. Hey, we are going for BBQ party and it's raining. So mummy keep praying the rain will only take place at Minden Height area. Along the way, there seems to be no sign of raining....however, too early to feel happy.

We reached Aunty Angeline's condo around 7pm, and most of the guests arrived. They were on their way to the BBQ area. As soon as we reached the BBQ area, mummy feel that feel droplet dropped on us and very soon, here come the bigger and bigger drops! So what's next??!! The party still on!
Mummy, you, daddy, Aunty Angeline and Evan kor kor went back to the condo meanwhile uncle Ben still continue with the BBQ in the rain. Guess what??!! They BBQ with umbrella, too bad, no photos to share. Mummy and Aunty Angeline then put some of the food in oven, BBQ them in oven! yeah! Faster way of cooking the food ya!

You don't seems to feel shy when you reached the condo. You walked into the living room, and you spotted the big Christmas tree. Then you started to play with Evan koh koh' toys.You had fish porridge prepared by Aunty Angeline as well as some cod fish. You enjoy the food very much. Oh yeah, for the past few times, everytime we went to their condo, you sure will leave something behind, your poo! This time mummy thought we will break the practise, but then, after you had your dinner, you poo!!! So what's next?! Of course changing diaper for you! Aunty Angeline is kind enough to let us uses her bedroom. You slept on her bed and later you even walk in and out from the bedroom as if you are in your own house.

Around 9pm, you started to be cranky as it's almost your sleeping time, so we decided to make a move

Oh yeah, you received 2 gifts from aunty Angeline. One is biscuit and another one is a musical toy!

Let's go kai kai

I love kai kai-ing! Every weekend, i will make sure i wake up before daddy and mummy, then i will stretch myself first, then wake daddy and mummy up. Usually it takes quite sometime to wake both of them up, they like to laze around and i have to roll here roll there so that they will give up and wake up!

So, what we'll do after everyone wake up? Of course is, to bath me!!! I love playing with water. Mummy will prepare water in a medium size pail for me, she called it baby pool. Yes, it's a super small baby pool. I can only sit in it, can't swim around. Yet, i still love it. At the end of the bathing session, everyone will get wet, coz i will splash water with my hands, kick water with my legs! After that, daddy and mummy will take turn to take their shower.

What's next?!!! Of course is kai kai time!!! I will get myself ready, wait for daddy and mummy at living room. Do you see the little bag on my wrist? I put my small little tiny toy in the bag. I found the bag from mummy's drawer, and now i am the owner of the small bag.

Ok, bye for now, am going out with daddy and mummy for breakfast.

Ewww.........mummy i don't like the feel

We brought you to Penang Swimming club for swimming, and suddenly mummy had a wild idea, want to let you walk on the beach.


So....we brought you to the beach, let you stand on it, at first. it was ok. You quite excited as you saw lots of people playing by the beach. However, when mummy asked you to walk in the sand, you started to show discomfort look. I guess probably you feel hard to move in the sand. As the result, you stand there and ask us to carry you. So, daddy and mummy quickly grab the opportunity to take some pics with you by the beach. Mummy will not give up, will bring you to the beach more frequent and i am sure u will love it.

Cool baby

Ah Ku bought 2 pairs of sunglasses for you as part of your baby shower gift. Mummy kept the sunglass in your drawer until today we took it out and let you wear on it. Oh yeah, you did wear on it before...it was while you were doing your sunbathing during your first month. Can you recall that?
