Another chanting (puja) session ...

After our previous chanting session at Uncle Buck Kooi's house, every night before you sleep and every morning after you wake up, daddy or mummy will ask you to pray to the buddha pic. We made a mistake by asking you to "pai pai" (in mandarin) and you thought it was "bye bye", so you will wave with the buddha pic, and mummy realised the confusion and quickly correct you, but yet, naughty you, sometimes you will wave when mummy said "pray", then you will give me a naughty look.

Yesterday we brought you along to Uncle Choo's house to attend chanting session. This round, those monks are from Bhutan and the session is Fire Buddha which meant for prosperity. After we pick you up from nursery, quickly we drop by Ah Kong's house for quick dinner and off, we headed to uncle Choo's house.

On the way, guess what..you decided to poo. I guess you must be bored with your toys in the car, so you decided to do something else. Mummy saw you stand on your car seat and very very quiet, so i know you must be pushing hard, so i just sat aside, and since mummy can't tell whether you are done with your business or not, so i asked you to tell me "no more" when you are done. Yes yes, my lil sweetie pie will show me "no more" sign when he's done with wee wee or poo poo. After a while, you showed me the "no more" sign and mummy a bit hesitate whether to change for you or not. At the end, daddy said change in the car. So mummy keep reminding you are we are in the car, not much space for me and you to move around, and to my surprise, you lie on the backseat nicely and you even lift your legs up for me. Such a good boy. Quickly, mummy wipe your bum bum and change a new diaper. While mummy try to put on your pants for you, you decided to remove your socks. You remove one side of your sock and throw it until mummy can't find it in the car. Mummy thought i may put the socks in your diaper or your pant, but when we reached uncle Choo's house, mummy and daddy take off your pants, remove your diaper, yet still can't find it....

When everyone see you with one sock, their reaction were "where is the other sock? You lost it on the way up?" Mummy has to tell them, "nope, he remove the sock in the car and i can't find it!". It took you a few minutes to warm up, then later you become yourself! While seeing daddy and the rest having their dinner, you keep saying "mum mum". Luckily i did bring along some bread for you and aunt Eliza gave you a slice of choc moist cake, and to our surprise, you love it so much. Oh yeah, you kept asking us to bring you to the fish pond, but too bad, it's too dark outside, so you don't get to see any fish, but you were attracted by the sound of the water flowing down into the pond.

Around 8:30pm, the chanting session start. When all of us sit on the floor, you start to cruise around, give everyone a touch, sit on few uncles' laps for few second, move here and there. But, thank god, you didn't make any noise. The session last for about 1.5 hr and you started to show sleepy sign as you become a bit cranky, but mummy and daddy still can handle you. The session ended with getting blessing from Rinpoche. Daddy carry you to get blessing and at the same time you were given a buddha pendant. After that, we headed back home. You were tired but you refuse to sleep in the car, so mummy need to keep you well entertain on our way home.

Overall, you behave well through out the entire session....hmmm, so means, can bring you along to more and more gathering huh!

Another achievement!

Today, while mummy preparing your lunch, suddenly Ah Kong came to kitchen happily, telling mummy and Ah Ma that you made your first 10+ steps!!! Only Ah Kong and daddy get to see it.

Ah Kong put you near to sofa while daddy busy turning on your favourite children song, you can't wait any further, so you walked towards daddy!

Mummy hope to see you walk more and more steps. Good job baby, keep it up!

After soooo long, finally

After waiting for so long, finally your birthday pic taken by uncle Kah is up!

While you are in the car...

Some of mummy's colleagues commented, "Wow, your son can sit in his car seat, so nice!"
Hmm.....what you think?

This is what you'll do while we are in the car,

But...sometimes, you will actually sit on your car seat nicely. However, most of the time, you choose to stand on your car seat, wave with people and banging on the car window. Sitting with you at the back is really a challenging task!

Together we Zzzzzz....

This morning, around 5am, after you had your milk, as usual, you continue to sleep. However, you are rolling left and right, trying to find the best position. Suddenly i feel that someone touching my hand. And it's you....

You hold my index finger with you little hand and sleep.....Nope nope, mummy not dreaming!! I dare not move my hand away as i afraid i will wake you up. Deep in my heart, i feel sooooooo sweet. All the while, it's mummy who hug you and sleep, and this time, you are holding my finger. Happily, mummy continue to sleep and when i wake up in the morning, you no longer hold on to my finger, instead, you are sleeping very close to me. I slowly, quietly move myself, afraid i may wake you up, mummy need to get myself ready to work before you wake up.

Wearing cap by yourself

Don't know since when...you somehow pick up the skill to wear your own shirt, comb your hair, wear cap, TAKE OFF your pants....

When i said comb your hair, you will put your hand on your head, if i give you your brush, you will put it on your head;
when i said brush your teeth, you will put your index finger horizontally in front of your mouth, etc.

But of course you still unable to do all these all by yourself, you still need our help to wear your clothes for you... etc. Sorry, blur mummy didn't notice when you start to pick up all these skills until recently.

Whenever we changed your shirt, you will automatically pull your hand out from the sleeve or put your hand into the sleeve...and once, you took off your pants in the car!!! And what i heard from teacher is, once, they wear the diaper pant a bit loose for you, and you took off the whole diaper pant...LOL!

Saturday, on our way to Queensbay Mall, mummy pass you your cap, and you put it on yourself. My little boy is picking up more and more skills.

Kelvin and miniature pooh

Can you recognise the pooh bear?
It's the pooh bear that you had on your birthday cake. Recently you fall in love with this miniature pooh. This is how you play with it.
1st pic: You put the miniature pooh into your index finger and you will wave at me!!!

2nd & 3rd pic : You will then put it into your mouth, then wave both of your hand, as if telling me "look, mummy, i can hold the pooh in my mouth!!"

Wow, Eating again!

Today, you ate a lot. You had your dinner pretty late, you had it around 7:30pm. Not long after dinner, daddy brought you to kitchen and you saw bread on dining table, then you asked for it by keep saying "mum mum". Daddy gave some to you as you keep asking for it. Then you continue to play with your toy happily.

On our way back, daddy and mummy decided to have supper, and mummy requested daddy to buy you a small pau. Since there is not more small pau available, daddy bought you a char siew pau. When we reached home, you can't wait to eat your pau. You keep telling daddy "mum mum". While daddy feeding you the pau, he can't cope with your eating speed as daddy need to peel the outer layer of the pau, and also make sure there isn't any big piece of meat attached to the pau that he's feeding you....and you, eating the pau happily! And when you finish eating it, you still keep shouting "mum mum" when you see daddy stop feeding you anything. Baby, you finish the char siew pau already, nothing else for you to eat, my dear. **We didn't let you eat the filling, you only get to eat the pau, maybe that's why you don't have sense of satisfaction huh!**

It's bed time!! Mummy then asked daddy to bring you into the room while i prepare milk for you. And to our surprise, you finished the 4.5oz of milk, then go to Zzzzzland happily!

Wow wow wow, from around 7:30pm until 9pm, you ate porridge, bread, char siew pau and milk....good good! But, aunty Sharon warn mummy not to give supper too often to you til become habit . Supper actually no good for our healthy. Ok ok, don't angry, don't cry, don't shout, daddy and mummy will try to find something else which is more nutritious for you to have as supper IF you really hungry huh!

My sweetie pie

You are getting more and more active and more and more talkative....even though sometimes i'm out of energy to crawl together with you, to talk with you..but i love being with you
Everytime whenever i get upset by my job, yes, mummy's job always make me feel sick...but then, ever since i have you, everytime i am sick with my job, i will think of you, think of the fun moment that we have, think of your smile, your cry, your everything, and lastly everyday i look forward to go home and give you a big hug!

Playing with phone

For unknown reason, lots of kids tend to like to play with phone, be it cell phone or house phone, as long as it's phone, they will love to play with it.

I still remember when you were small baby, whenever you cranky, mummy just need to take my cellphone out, let you listen to the ring tone, you will stop crying and instead busy exploring my cell phone.

Lately, you started to show interest on our house phone. As such, mummy need to unplug the house phone and let it be one of your toys.
For those who call me at house phone, if no one pick up the phone, YES, we are at home. I unplug the phone to let lil one to play with it. Just in case he accidentally dial 999, then i will in trouble! haha! It happened couple of times when you play with mummy or daddy's phone, you accidentally call someone in our phone list.

Sometimes when you see mummy talking on phone, you will put your hand to your ear, as if you are talking on the phone too. And you will also insist me to pass you the phone as if you know how to talk over the phone. If we asked you, "Kelvin, how you do hello hello?" Then, you will put your hand near to your ear, or if you are holding something else at that moment, you will put the thing near to your ear! LOL!

Kakak!

Kakak, yes...you are calling Kakak clear and loud on Saturday. I monitored and noticed that you kept saying Kakak as soon as you wee on your diaper. By the way, we do not have maid at home, so mummy's conclusion is, whenever you wee or poo at school, teacher will ask Kakak to clean the nappy, and from there, you picked up the word "Kakak". And i doubt you know what Kakak meant as Ee-Poh said you even call her Kakak when she changed the soiled nappy for you. ** Pengsanzzzz**

Morning when mummy dropped you at school, i heard you calling Kakak again when you saw the maid coming into the living hall. Teacher Chuah said sometime you will call Kakak in very sweet tone, make people's heart melted!

Your first breakfast by yourself!

Usually mummy will buy mee suah and share with you, however, last Sunday we decided to bring you to town for breakfast. Off we went to the kopitiam somewhere nearby New World Park for koay teow thng, and who knows, effective Oct 07, they will off on Sunday..duh!! So, we went to another kopitiam off Burma Road for breakfast.

Mummy ordered a plate of chee cheong fun for you. Well, it's pretty plain, without the prawn paste of course!!! While waiting for our chee cheong fun, you decided to make friend with the guy who stand beside us. You touches his shirt, duh! Naughty you. Finally, we get our chee cheong fun.

Excitedly, mummy started to feed you, first bite, to my surprise, you love it so much and keep ask for more. Mummy can't cope with your speed. And you will scream if i'm slow. You ate almost more than 1 chee cheong fun and daddy said we better stop feeding you as he already gave you one slice of Gardenia bread in the morning. Wow, you eat a lot huh! And that's not the end of the story, while we stop feeding you, you scream out loud, ask for more, daddy has to carry you away while mummy quickly finish my breakfast. Then, we headed back to ah Kong's house.

Lil sweetie, this is what you had except the prawn paste and sweet sauce, yours are plain chee cheing fun. But u love it soooooooooo much!

Shy boy?

Saturday night, we brought you to Uncle Dominic's house. We were suppose to be there at 8pm, but somehow, during that time, you were still in your dreamland, so daddy and mummy decided to let you wake up by yourself instead of us wake you up. You woke up around 8:40pm, off then we went to Uncle Dominic's house. It's raining outside, yet it still didn't stop us from going out as lots of uncles waiting for you at Uncle Dominic's house.

We reached Uncle Dom's house close to 9pm. Uncle KT was there with his daughter who's born the same day as you, few hours earlier than you. We went into uncle Dom's room to say hi to little Gabriel as little Gabriel is tired and going to Zzzzz...Daddy let you touches little Gabriel and after that, Mummy let you sit on the carpet and Uncle KT's daughter try to be friend with you, touched your face, and guess what?? You cry out loud. Hmm..unlike you, usually you will touch people back, and you were happily "chatting" with mummy along the way to Uncle Dom's house. So quickly mummy carry you and distract you with the lights, bla bla and you stopped crying.

Mummy took out the toy car that i brought along, and soon, you were back to the Happy Boy, playing your car, "vrrrommm vrrroommm" it around the house. And you even let Uncle Andy to carry you, and you "walk" to uncle KT and uncle Yip and touches them, doesn't seems to be shy at all...but how come you cry when uncle KT's daughter touched you? Hmm.....

We left uncle Dom's house around 10:10pm when both of you showing sleepy sign to us. Time to go back and ZzzzzzzZZZZzzz.. When back in the car, you are "chatting" non stop with mummy in your baby language. And as usual, mummy reply back, "yes yes, sweetie" ...

Ching Ern's mummy so nice, she send me this template to capture your first step! Thanks Wooi Sin for such a nice and lovely template to note down my little one's first step. I bet every parents look forward to their kids' first step, first word, first bla bla.....and we always so excited until forget that we need to snap the special moment and jot it down...Mummy so excited and don't get to capture the moment you walked!

I know it's hard for you and me!

Mummy had high fever on next day after your big one! Daddy a bit worry that the medicine that i took to bring down the fever will goes into breastmilk, he stops me from breastfeeding you, so, you only get to take the frozen ebm.

On Monday night, mummy prepare the ebm in bottle, daddy brought you into the room, play with you for short while then tug you to bed. Mummy has to stay away from you, afraid that you will stick to me. I can hear your whining sound from the living room,but i have to pretend not hearing it. A while later, daddy walked out from the room, telling me you fall asleep. Wow, good job. However, daddy did tell me that you kept want to come out from the room to look for me, and somehow, daddy managed to persuade you to sleep without mummy.

So, daddy and mummy think that we can take this opportunity to wean you off from breastfeeding before sleep.

On Tuesday night, as mummy afraid my frozen ebm may run out of stock,so we think of letting you try on formula milk. Mummy don't feel like storing those ebm as mummy need to take Paracetamol to bring down my fever. Your paed said it's ok, but daddy and mummy try to avoid giving it to you, if possible. To our surprise you took the formula milk happily, without any complain. However, you start to whine after finish the milk. This time, mummy cannot control myself, i walked into the room, almost wanna give up and let you latch on. Daddy has stronger determination, he asked me to hold on, let you roll here and there and he said eventually you will fall asleep. Mummy lie down beside you, and you sleep close to me, within few seconds, you fall asleep. Nope nope, you cheated, you pretend fall asleep, because when mummy move myself a bit, you wake up and whine again.

So, again, i sleep beside you. And this time, you choose to have a different way of sleeping. You climb onto me and put your head on my chest and sleep. Basically you are sleeping on mummy. Initially i feel funny, and keep laughing, but later the laughing change to tears. Tears dropping down as i know it's time for us to put a stop on breastfeeding. It's not what mummy want to do, but somehow, sooner or later, mummy need to wean you off. It's just a matter of time. I know it's hard for you, but it's hard for mummy too. Mummy hope you will not think that mummy don't love you anymore. Mummy still love you as before, in fact, mummy's love to you increase day by day.

You made your FIRST 2 STEPS unsupported!

You were holding on the handle of the staircase playing pee-ka-boo with mummy, and mummy open my arm and asked you to come to me, to our surprise, you balance yourself, then let go your hand and walk 2 steps. All of us clap our hands and you then sit on the floor slowly after the 2 steps.

When we get back to our home sweet home, again, you walked 2 steps unsupported towards me. Good job, baby!

The counting process starts again as mummy looking forward to celebrate your 2 yrs old birthday with you.

Happy BIG ONE, Sweetie Pie

Today is your BIG ONE celebration. Early in the morning, you woke up around 7:10am, gosh, it's early. And you refused to sleep no matter how we pat you. So we brought you to Ah Kong's room, let them play with you while daddy and mummy quickly get ourselves ready as we have few errands to run!

We went to Sunshine market to buy fruits,had our breakfast, pick up curry chicken from U-Ton. Gosh, when we reached home, it's almost 10:30am. Mummy quickly prepare Ham and Egg sandwiches for the party, ah Ma helped to cut the fruits, daddy busy blowing balloons, and Ah Kong kept you entertained. Luckily uncle Kah and Aunt Ping arrived early, so they helped mummy with sandwich preparation and also kept you entertained. To our surprise, you let uncle Kah carry you. And you also play with his camera bag, take everything out from his bag, then put it back again. And you even took the len's cover and use it as phone with we said "hello, hello". What a naughty boy

Around 12 noon, mummy quickly get myself ready as guests may arrive at anytime while daddy went to pick up Shuenn Yun kor kor and also buy McNuggets. Our first guests are Evan kor kor, Aunty Angeline and Uncle Ben. We put the floor mat on the floor for you guys to sit and play. Also, mummy bring some of your toys for you guys to play.

Guess what, i think Evan kor kor gets bored with the toys and he found a new toy, which is the plastic stool. He pushed the plastic stool from second living room to living room, and it gets your attention. You then join Evan kor kor to push the plastic stool. Both of you pushed at different direction, since you can't walk or stand unsupported, so Ah Kong need to standby behind you, just in case you lost balance.

Soon,more and more guests arrived, and as usual, you gets excited seeing lots of kids. I think probably you used to play with lots of kids when you are in nursery. So you don't seems to feel shy. We started the party with eating all the food, and Shuenn Yun kor kor even volunteer to cook us carbonara pasta, mummy's favourite! And i shared some with you, you like it so much. You know what, i forgot to feed you the porridge and you didn't ask for it, probably too excited. Half way when mummy feeding you the pasta, you fall on me and the whole pasta drop on my shirt and pants, what a mess. But it doesn't stop you to continue enjoying the great time. Then you get to eat some of the noodle that cooked by ee-poh.

After a while, when everyone almost there, we started the cake cutting ceremony. Mummy ordered chocolate moist cake as the birthday cake for you, and also 24 cup cakes with the wording "Happy Birthday Kelvin". The cup cakes seems to be the star of the day, everyone kept looking at it and after birthday song, mummy had hard time cutting the birthday cake, and since the cup cakes so attractive, all the guest took the cup cake based on the whatever character in the kid's name. Ah Kong quickly keep the cup cake with K for you, but don't don't get to eat it yet. hahaha! We did let you try a small bite of the birthday cake but you show us sour face.

After cake cutting, most of the kids start to show sleepy sign, the party end around 2:30pm. Just as per our plan. I hope you have great time, sweetie pie!

Preparation for the Big One Party

About 2 weeks before your birthday, mummy send out party invitation to friends, here is the self made party invitation card, of course with the help with some software. Few days before the party, mummy printed out the "Happy 1st Birthday Kelvin" and slowly cut out each word day by day. Daddy and mummy started with the party decoration one day before the real day.

i know i know time flies....

Mummy know mummy know...clock ticks and time flies. In few days time, you will be celebrating your BIG ONE and until now, seems like nothing being set up at home. Lots of ideas in my mind, and i can't sort out which one i want...duh! I think at the end, i will go for the most simple one...sorry, baby, don't angry at mummy ya!

Well, at least, mummy :-

• send out the Big One invitation,
• printed out the "Happy 1st Birthday Kelvin" wordings, cut it halfway,
• ordered birthday cake
• ordered cookies and party favor
• brainstorm on variety of food for the DAY

This morning, mummy suddenly realised that me and daddy haven't get any birthday present for you...Another headache, what to get for you!

My initial plan to have your birthday at Penang Swimming Club's Marina deck as mummy love the sea view from the platform. However, after several consideration, we drop the idea, because:-

• Your birthday party is at afternoon, and the place will be a bit hot...we avoid doing it in the evening as mummy assume most of the kids will be active and awake during lunch time
• Most of the guests are with toddler, if we have it outdoor, hard for the parents to change their kid if the kid wanna wee wee or poo poo
• And lastly, mummy don't like hot weather, and so do you...you get cranky when it's hot

Am so excited to celebrate your Big One with you. Uncle Kah will be your main photographer on the day and also, Evan kor kor's daddy, uncle Ben , will be the backup photographer as he just bought his new toy,SLR.
